How do i remove the cover on my acer 2420 laptop to replace the cmos battery? Some one please help

You have to probably remove all the screws under the computer. remove the hdd memory and etc. The next part will be to check near the keyboard if there is something to pull out, underneath that there will be more screws to pull out and you will the cmos battery.

if your computer is the aaccer travelmate 2420 you can also check this website http://www.wiquestions.com/questions/les-instructions-de-demontage-pour-un-acer-travelmate-2420/
it's in french but just translated with google

I forget my bios password.. how to solve this problem

You need to reset your BIOS. open your CPU you should be able to see a "Battery" (its shape like battery watch , looks like a silver coin)

remove it for 5 minutes. unplug the power cord of your computer.

after 5 minutes insert the battery again and turn your computer ON.

hope this helps.

Acer 4650 Travelmate Black screen

Try start up in Safe Mode press F8. Choose Safe Mode, when at the choice window, to select either Safe Mode Desktop, OR System Restore, chooses system restore and choose a time before you had the "Problem" and follow instructions. This should get you back.

Trying to find keyboard replacement instructions

On the back of the laptop remove the battery and any screws under it, if you look just above the keyboard theres a seperate peice of plastic now remove any screws on the back that could potentially screw into it and remove it (theres normally clips aswell and sometimes you have to slide it either left or right first. Then theres normally a screw holding the keyboard in normally locted in the centre and 'sunk-in' deeper than the rest of them remove that and the keyboard should lift up, careful its still attatched via a zif connector, remove this by pulling up the little tags at the edges of the connector pulling it out (should come out easily) then you looking for either a single cell battery or a black thing in the shape of a battery with a black and a red wire coming out of it.

Instructions for acer aspire keyboard replacement

first of all, remove the power connector and the battery before u do anything on that laptop.

remove the 3 screws in the middle cover. remove that middlecover by putting a screwdriver in one of those holes which are covering the displaybrackets. pull it up slowly. same thing goes for the opposite side.

there you go smile.gif remove the 2 screws which are holding the keyboard and the cable to the mainboard.
