I am on my second system in less than 72 hours and have managed to lock this one up as well. While attmpting to download a CD to the system as instructed by the owners manual, the unit comes to 97% complete then shuts down. The system appears to be stuck on a rebot mode. I have unplugged the unit for 60 sec. as the manufaturer recomends without success. I have also followed the instructions of Bose Customer Service support of disconnecting the power cord from the back of the unit for 30 sec. and while holding down the eject and volume (-) simultaniously while plugging in the unit until the Bose 3-2-1 display has disapeared for 5 sec. then pushing the stored button the remote. This has failed as well. Doese anyone have an alternate solution to this type of problem. I do not want to try a third system if this will be an on going issue with Bose product.
Well, After returning a second unit to the store where purchased, we discovered they had a bad lot of units. Before I would accept another unit, I required the store to set the unit up and down load a CD. After two additional unit failing, we finnaly found on that worked. If you decide to purchase this unit, I strongly suggest testing all option before throwing away any packaging.
There seems to be some large problem with the drive, where an obstruction within the drive pops up. The solution is to return it or repair it for a new unit. I am disappointed with the Bose team on this one, let's be SURE. So your bet is to steer clear i suppose! maybe try a reciever based Sony HTIB? Thanks! Good Luck!
