The wep key is setup on the wireless router, not the adapter. If you do not have the login information for the router, then the easiest thing to do is reset the router to default settings (this removes any existing keys) and then configure it with a new key. If you reset the router, you will need to connect to the router with a network cable to reconfigure it.
Are you using Windows XP on your primary PC? If yes, you dont need to install the wireless LAN monitor of the usb adapter because Windows XP has a built-in wireless monitor. Start with a clean slate by uninstalling it from Add/Remove Programs. Next, to install it properly, just plug the wireless adapter into your computer, and when Windows XP finds it, it will either look for the cd to get its driver or it will install it automatically (verify this by right clicking on My Computer >> Properties >> Hardware >> Device Manager. You should see the adapter under Network Adapters) and it should say something like "it's working properly). Once installed, go to Control Panel >> Network Connections. Right click Wireless Network Connection, click View Available Wireless Networks. Connect to your wireless router from here.
it is a pure case of signal interference.check for any cordless phones with the same frequency range of the wireless router,,or any telephone line passing by.baby monitors,or any radio transmitters, walkie talkie, plz post me if it doesnt solve it,,also try upgrading the firmware of the router if it is a bit old.best of luck
Double check if there is any wireless security enabled in your router. Verify if the type of security enabled in your router is already supported by your wireless adapter. If the wireless security enabled in your router is not supported by your adapter, change the security to something that will work with your adapter.
Try connecting your computer with dynex Wireless G USB to different wireless network for further isolation.
I would take the dynex back to the store. I have dynex and a brand new netgear router.Netgear is awesome! Wife has netgear and hers is working fine and she is running vista! Im running dynex and nothing but problems so easy fix is replace with netgear. Goodluck kingelviss
If you installed the wireless utility for your adapter try using that instead. You can also enable first the Wireless Zero Configuration on XP Click Start-RUN- Type services.msc on the RUN box then on the services local look for Wireless Zero Configuration, Right click on it and select start thats it you should have a View available wireless network option now.
re-installed the driver of adapter and check the wireless zero configuration is start is start then off then on after then check and one more thing yuor firewall will be disable
