The key number is the passphrase on your router when you initially set it up. Usually you'll need to enter it when you set up a wireless router.

How do I find the WEP Code for my Wireless G Dynex?

The wep key is setup on the wireless router, not the adapter. If you do not have the login information for the router, then the easiest thing to do is reset the router to default settings (this removes any existing keys) and then configure it with a new key. If you reset the router, you will need to connect to the router with a network cable to reconfigure it.

Hello I have just the other day purchased a Linsky broadband router(model WRT300N) with it I purchased 2 USB keys model no WUSB54GC-EU,on my seconary pc(next door)I have susessfully installed the software...

Are you using Windows XP on your primary PC? If yes, you dont need to install the wireless LAN monitor of the usb adapter because Windows XP has a built-in wireless monitor. Start with a clean slate by uninstalling it from Add/Remove Programs. Next, to install it properly, just plug the wireless adapter into your computer, and when Windows XP finds it, it will either look for the cd to get its driver or it will install it automatically (verify this by right clicking on My Computer >> Properties >> Hardware >> Device Manager. You should see the adapter under Network Adapters) and it should say something like "it's working properly). Once installed, go to Control Panel >> Network Connections. Right click Wireless Network Connection, click View Available Wireless Networks. Connect to your wireless router from here.

Siemens router & Dynex adapter

Double check if there is any wireless security enabled in your router. Verify if the type of security enabled in your router is already supported by your wireless adapter. If the wireless security enabled in your router is not supported by your adapter, change the security to something that will work with your adapter.

Try connecting your computer with dynex Wireless G USB to different wireless network for further isolation.

Wireless internet

If you installed the wireless utility for your adapter try using that instead.
You can also enable first the Wireless Zero Configuration on XP
Click Start-RUN- Type services.msc on the RUN box then on the services local look for Wireless Zero Configuration, Right click on it and select start thats it you should have a View available wireless network option now.
