Yamaha rx-v461 not working

Every time i turn on my reciever it only stays on for 3 seconds and shuts off, and wont turn on again unless it is unplugged and plugged back in

    even with all the wires disconnected the receiver does the same thing

Does the reciever have separate speaker switches?
Try turning off the speakers and turning on the amp.
If it doesnt have speaker switches , make sure ALL the speakers are connected at both ends and try turning on the amp again.

You have a faulty circuit somewhere, whether its in speaker wiring, or power source, i dont know, but your reciever has an automatic circuit breaker in it for protection, and a faulty circuit will trip it, i would assume it is a power source problem since it wont turn back on, check wiring, plugs and look around, and smell for burnt, or hot components.

HI,

Start by checking the fuse, take the cover off the reciever and look for a small glass fuse attached to the board. If it's blown replace it.

RX-V461 Yahama Receiver is hooked up to TV with optical THX cable but can't get sound. Tuner on receiver plays and all speakers work perfectly for radio listening.

double check input used on amp and make sure u use the auto format decoder fuction on your amp ok if it has none than turn it on optical digital ok that should work for you :)

I need a display bulb for a yahama rx- v850 av reciever

The display bulb is a 14 volt bead style lamp about 0.150 inches wide with wire leads. You'll need to cut the old bulb off the two -pin cable assby and wire the new lamp into the existing wires.
