Playing my "Zune" through the USB input

I have been using a 4gig thumb drive on the USB input on the front of my reciever w/ no problems...I just purchased a 30gig Zune and it keeps flashing "check" and won't play. The manual said to try and keep from having an abundance of folders and subfolders. I had my songs organized by artist, then album and I deleted all the album folders so all the songs just fell under the artist name, (no subfolders) and it's still not working. I also have some video and picture files that may be causing it not to read but I'd rather not delete if I don't have to. Am I simply going to have to cut down? Thank you for your help Bryan Jenkins

I dont think a zune is capable of being directly read from in a unit such as this. When you plug your zune into a computer for instance, you need special software to upload and edit music on the device. I dont think the device pops up as a drive in "my computer" if you are using a drive "usb key" that does simply pop up on a pc, and it works on your deck, this would prove to me that your deck is simply not capable of reading the info on your zune. aka, there is no way to install drivers on your deck that are capable of reading off the zune. Your usb key works because it simply reads as a drive. this isnt really a solution, but maybe check with the manufacturer of your deck. send them an email and see if there is any way to make a zune read properly.

I had the same issue with the in dash stereo I bought. I thought I would be slick by hooking up my zune to the usb and it would work perfectly... not so much. However if your stereo has an aux hook up on the back of the unit and feed through any part of your dash. I fed mine through my glove compartment that way there was no cord flopping around when I wasn't using my zune.

hope this helps

Well, there is no way to install drivers on your deck, but there is a way to install "Fixes" to your Zune. Look for various "Fixes" on the net, once your zune is acting as a Flash Drive, try it than and tell us what happens.

No audio after recording from sat. Reciever

Double-check your input cables from the receiver to the LG 389. Do you have the sat. receiver AV out connected to the front AV In on the LG DRT389? Make sure that you haven't mixed up the L and R audio connections on either side. (I've done something similar with RCA cables myself.) Next, try a different set of cables.

If that doesn't work, there may be a problem with the audio jacks on either your receiver or the 389. To check, plug the AV cables from the Sat. Receiver directly into the TV. If you have sound and video, then the input jacks on the recorder may be damaged.

Try using another input. (It looks like some models have the SCART input; you may need to set the input source in the menu under AV2 Decoder.)

The fact that you have audio output on USB and DVD's means that cables/connections between the LG289 and the TV are fine.

I hope this helps. Please add a comment with the details of which AV port you are using on the LG389 for additional assistance.

I bought a used car and it already had a kenwood kdc-x890 installed. my question is when i plug my zune or even just a mp3 player into the usb port it responds with [n/a data].

The KDC-X890 will play MP3s that are stored on a USB mass storage device, such as a USB thumb drive. It won't play music from another MP3 player such as a Zune through the USB port, but you could plug your MP3 player into the auxiliary jack.

I have not used my zune for a few months now but need to use an mp3 player so i am trying to use it again. When i plug it in to my computer using the usb cord the little battery charging sign comes up then...

First, you must not use the front usb ports on your cpu. You must plug your zune device in the back usb port. You must then download the LATEST Zune software. Install it and restart your computer. If done correctly, your Zune device will begin to charge and start working correctly. Have fun with your device

The Windows 98 system may have changed the drive letter of the thumb drive. In windows XP, open control panel - administrative tools. Then go into the removable drives option where you can change the drive letter. Change the thumb drive to a drive letter that does not conflict with another device on your system. Make sure your thumb drive is in the USB slot. Alternately, you can change the drive letter of the conflicting drive...
