if the therocouple has packed up pilot light will not light thermocouple has long small diameter pipe leading to a larger end this needs to be above the pilot flame also for safety have a small bowl of soapy water with a brush wet the nut with soapy water in no bubbles appear then try lighting heater thermocouples don't last that long

I can't find an owner's manual anywhere for this fireplace, but you are welcome to see if any of these universal fan kits look similar: Universal Fireplace Fan Kits.

Regina, if you can provide the correct Model Number for your fireplace, I may can help you. Without it, there's not much anyone can do, since the manufacturer, DESA International has been out of business for 4 years.

I have had a Charmglow for about five years and was doing the same thing. I called a plumber that worked with gas fireplaces and he came out, clean the pilot light and now it works great. Cost was $99.00

is pilot flame on the thermopile good, pilot flame should cover the thermocouple and thermopile if unit has both

YOU SHOULD GET A GAS FITTER TO CHANGE FIREPLACE OVER TO GAS .

Sounds like the pilot is dirty
