Zebra S4M prints one label then goes to flashing pause light.
Nothing responds after that, need to turn of and back on, it says printer ready, but once it prints one label, stops and pause light start flashing again.
Re: Zebra S4M prints one label then goes to flashing...
Most likely it is a printer driver issue. There's 2 drivers, one for 200dpi and one for 300dpi. Use the one for 200dpi. It could also be the label setting is incorrect. Try running a calibration.

The new labels are probably not thermal labels. Test them by applying heat to the surface and see if they turn black. If they do not change, then they are thermal transfer labels and not direct thermal. Contact your label vendor and have them replaced.
Locate your printer driver under devices and printers Right click on it and select "Printing Preferences" Choose the "Advanced Setup" tab Change media type to "Thermal Transfer" Be sure that "use printer settings" is NOT selected at the top left Click OK and you should be good. Note that any labels created prior to this change will need to be changed inside each label under the label setup.
turn printer off, press pause buton, tur on, wait 5 secunds and relese the button. He goin to print the test label, Pause. check Darkness seting, ajust if necessery. don't forget to save. To go out from the test, turn printer off and on again.
the ribbon is on the correct way?
The labels are Termal Transfer and you don't have ribbon in the printer.
By gaps, do you mean a "void" area ? Over time, the elements on the printhead will wear down and finally they won't transfer heat to the ribbon. This causes a gap or void area. Usually the elements go out one or two at a time. If the area that is worn out is supposed to be printing bars for the barcode, this will cause the scanning problem you are experiencing.
The best way to see if elements are worn out is to design a label that has a thick solid black line across the label or a solid black box. You will see white vertical lines in the areas where elements are worn out. Another method would be to use the widest and longest label you have and print a 'pause" test label. This is done by turning off the printer, pressing and holding on the PAUSE key while turning on the printer. Hold the pause key for 10-15 seconds and when the printer is done with it's power on self test, it will start printing out a test pattern label which includes a nice black area where you can look for the white vertical lines.
Calibrate the media that is in the printer. Power the printer on while holding the feed key. When it flashed red, let go. It will calibrate, print a config label, then go into dump. Press the feed key again to exit dump. Once this is complete, your printer should advance only one label at a time when you press the feed key. If this is working as expected, but the labels are not printing right when you print from you application, there is a problem with your format or driver settings.
You need to make sure the printer is calibrated correctly. If you press the feed key, does one label come out and stop at the gap? Do the labels have a black mark on the back of the liner? This would tell us if the printer is set correctly. (Mark or gap). We need to make sure the labels are loaded correctly and the printer is set correctly. Then we move to driver and software settings. I have 10 years experience working for Zebra, so I will get you the resolution once we determine the current setup.
i think it's a GAP problem, try to calibrate from the computer, if that's not solve the problem, find the CALIBRATE option on the LCD panel a. just follow the instruction to do manual calibrate
