Never had a problem with the camera. Recorded something a few days ago. Went to turn on the camera to watch on TV and the screen is dark gray with a brighter gray square in the center (as in a different aspect ratio). No menu screen comes up on playback. A few times when I tried to record, I got a screen of whatever I was focusing on, but no zoom and there was ''an hour glass'' icon in the center of the screen.
The blue access light stays on continually as if it's trying to access files. Just realized the ''warning'' in the manual that says not to turn off while this is flashing. However, I've turned it on/off several times trying to get it working.
My computer doesn't recognize it when I plug it into try to upload video.
You have to check the firewire securety port....
it protect the camera from the wrong conections with the pc...
it doesn"t complot the camera work....
if you have a playback recorder deck it can wait ....
