SOURCE: Jenn-Air JDG8430 Ignitor won't stop sparking after burner ignites

when you turn the dial a switch is engaged to start the ignitor , or if there is a sensor(one for the two bottom , one for the two top , it may not be reconizing that they are lit ,or the problem is sticky switch in the the dials, but I believe its a sensor that detects both of those burners that stops the spark

SOURCE: two of five cooktop burners fail to light

you can try to scratch the area where it grounds to with a wire brush or screw driver this will help sometimes. sometimes when it archs down try tighten the screws to lift up the ignitors into the hole better. or if this doesn't work replace the ignitors.

Jenn-Air JGC8536 Gas Cooktop ignitor replacement

One burner doesn't consistently light. Igniter sparks but not the same as the other - "good" burners spark at top of igniter and moves around to light, "bad" burner sparks toward the bottom and doesn't move much. I can use the burner by lighting with a match and it works fine. Have tried cleaning with a toothbrush without much success

Jenn-Air Expressions cvgx2423b manual request

I have the same model with the same problem. The replacement is simple. Remove the burner cap (no tools needed) Take a large crescent wrench and remove the large center nut holding the burner assembly in place. The ignitor will slide out of the assembly once it is removed. Good luck

Igniter will not turn off once burners are lit.

I've had the same problem for 2 years. Today I removed the four burner tops, the 15/16 inch bolt that holds the burners in place, took everything apart (simple connections underneath), completely cleaned and dried eveything. I also cleaned the 4 knobs and making sure the 4 swiches slide up and down freely then dried everything with a hairdryer. Is now works fine but if the problem comes back, I'll simply unplug the cooktop and light it manually. P.S. I stripped one of the large 5/16 inch bolt that had become weak and brittle. - Try using water or some liquid to loosen the bolts as necessary. Good luck, CHEERS!
