I have a Zodiac lm3 24... when the chlorinator cahnges polarity ever 2nd time the no flow light and comes on and the output is a solid orange. Water is flowing around the cell but the chlorine generation has ceased. When it chnages poIarity a 2nd time it works ok, hence it only produces chlorine from one pole. I only replaced the cell 12 months ago so could it be the PCB power board?

SOURCE: ZODIAC DUOCLEAR 25K DOESN'T FUCTIONING WELL

I have the zodiac duoclear system and have used it for nearly two years. All in all, it's a very good system. I have had similiar issues on occassion. Have you tried the master reset button on the lower right hand face of the control board? I've been able to clear up the lights by resetting the system.

If the salt content in the pool is not correct, the system will not allow you to superchlorinate. Your salt level should be at 4000 ppm. The add salt light is programmed to come on if the system gets below 3600 ppm. When the system is below 4000 ppm, it is unable to generate the chlorine needed. The lower the salt, the less you can chlorinate. Might not be your problem, but I've run into this before too.

The lights for replacing your cartridge puzzle me. I'm making an assumption that your pool is probably dirty if you're trying to superchlorinate. The dirtier the water, the faster the electrode in the cartridge will get covered in scale from the current and conversion process. Try cleaning the new cartridge by placing it in a bucket with a 75% water and 25% muratic acid mix. Let it soak for a few minutes and gently swirl it around in the mixture. This will clean the contacts in the cartridge.

Keys with the Duoclear system: Salt content and clean the filters regularly. Don't know if this will solve your problem or not, but good luck.

If the cell is clean check your flow switch. Take a water sample to your pool store to check your salt leavel again also have them check your stablizer or cynuraic acid it should be between 50-80 ppm to control the chloriene that you produce. If this runs to the top of the scale 99ppm at most Leslies stores have them dilute your sample by half and try again. If that runs to high it will stop the chloriene from working. Also always be sure your filter is clean.

Nost often it just needs to be cleaned. Calcium build up can clean in a tub of 1 Part muratic acid to 5 parts warter. or a 2 to 1 soultion of vinigar and water, otherwise it could be faulty. Cleaning typically works.

Two Things come to mind, the board, or it could be that the life of the cell has expired.

Today I have the no flow light flashing on my Zodiac Tri Clorine generator, when i remove the wire to the flow meter it comes on all the time then put it back on and it flashes I have plenty of flow a

if your positive there's the same or better flow than when it was newer , id say you have a defective flow sensor there

a simple flow test I do using a std pool hose of 1.5 inches in diameter is to hold it at 90degrees to ground resting it on a 1 foot high solid edge and measure out in inches how far the water reaches before hitting ground , this is purely a comparison test , you need to know what it was before there's a problem as several factors influence this simple test , so its results are site specific

Zodiac lm3

The lm series chlorine generator has a tri-sensor inside the cell that measures flow, water temp, and salt level in pool. If the controller is indicating no flow after it has been cleaned properly, then the cell is most likely in need of replacement.
