How to clean debris below lint filter Frigidaire Gallery GLER341as1

The filter itself is fine/clean, but there seems to be a massive accumulation of lint/debris below where the filter is seated, and seems to be between the front dryer exterior panel and the drum area. It is so narrow and awkward, I am having a huge problem getting the stuff out through the regular filter access area after I removed the filter itself. I've had the dryer for many years and it works great, but just discovered this "treasure trove" last evening and am concerned about a possible fire hazard. Any thoughts on easier access to this area aside from taking the dryer apart -- ?

Pull the exhuast vent off the back of the dryer, remove the lint screen and then turn it on for a few, should just blow out the back.

SOURCE: How do you clean the lint filter area?

I hate this dryer overall..but, re: the lint: i purchased a long bristol brush from brookstone that is made for these kind of situations. It kind of looks like a long "rifle" cleaning barrel. it helps alittle. just stil it in the dryer and keep turning the handle and try to collect lint as possible. overall..i hate this damn dryer plus it takes forever to dry approx: 1 1/2 hrs to dry one load. my bosch washer model wfmc 6400 series sucks also..it shakes constantly throught out the entire wash..and drain cloggs alost.

there are two tabs that hold the top cover on,they are a couple inches in from each side.push in and lift lid. inside front panel are two screws, remove them then pull front cover out and lift it up of tabs on bottom.once you get the cover off remove belt, the you will be able to see your mess. heating element mounts to back panel.there is a heat sheild that mountws to the back of the drum.then you lift the drum up and put three screws in the drum to the pivot plate on the back panel.

SOURCE: How to get the front panel off GE Profile Harmony

Here's a simple overview of what you have to do:

You actually don't remove the back sir, but that's okay, that's a common misconception for this model dryer. The proper way to disassemble this particular dryer is you start with the top. You have to start with the removal of the control panel, then the top of the dryer. What I would consider the top cover. Then you'll have to remove two plastic brackets. Then you have to remove the front. There's two aluminum brackets in each corner, remove those. Open the door and there'll be two more screws to remove on each side. You have to lift the front just a little and then pull towards you. I forgot to mention, before that part, you'll need to ensure you are disconnecting the electrical wiring. There's almost no chance of connecting the wrong ones even if you forget. GE made this part novice proof. Once you get the front removed, you'll see the lint/trap. There's a couple of screws on either side of the aluminum housing. Not much to it. Let me know if there's anything I can clarify further. Have fun!

SOURCE: LG dlg5988W Gas Dryer - flashing "clean filter" light

i got the same problem and no repair man could help . i think i just got mine fixed 6-15-09 .what you do is go behind the dryer , remove the air duct and then remove the pipe that is inside the machine by removing one screw . this will give you access inside the machine .first clean as much as you can of the lint inside by vacuuming it . if you look to the left you will see 2 wires with a black button in the middle this is the ignitor ,clean it good because i think the dirt is not allowing it to light up . i did that and mine is working but the cooling light is still on .

Fridgidaire gallery gas dryer + burn marks

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand that the dryer on your Frigidaire laundry center, model# GLEH1642FS, has burn marks. It sounds like the air flow in your dryer could possibly be blocked. I suggest cleaning out the lint trap, the ducting, and the vent outside. I also suggest cleaning the lint filter, by running it under the hottest water you can handle and a small scrub brush. You should be able to clean the burn marks with a small scrub brush and warm water. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your dryer status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Always air filter clean

If the light comes on after it\'s started its cycle, that sounds like your dryer actually has a sensor in it (my dryer just has a fake light to remind you to clean the filter, but there\'s no sensor).

Either there\'s debris accumulated inside that\'s blocked the sensor (it\'s working correctly), or the sensor itself has failed (part repair).

It\'s possible your filter itself isn\'t letting enough air pass through any more. Do a quick test: run the dryer with the filter out and see if the light still comes on.

If the light still comes on, see if you can remove some lint from the dryer. Remove the filter and get a vacuum nozzle in as far as you can to try to suck out any lint that got past the filter.

Also check the exhaust. How recently was your dryer duct cleaned? Could it be clogged? Disconnect the exhaust from the wall and inspect the pipe. If you see a *lot* of lint and dust it should probably be cleaned. It\'s not expensive - call a duct cleaning company and ask them to clean your dryer duct and nothing else. No addons, no extended service plan, nothing - just clean the duct.

By now you\'ve checked the air going in and the air going out. If it still continues this behaviour I would look at the sensor itself. It\'s almost certainly cheaper in the long run to call in a repair person for that.

How do you change lint filter

Hello ccparish8 - Base on the model listed above on the post, washer GLWS1339EC does not have a lint filter or any of Frigidaire washing machines. However, if you are referring to replacing the lint filter on a dryer, simply remove the lint filter from the housing and reinstall in the same manner.

Increased drying time; removal of lint behind tumbler ???

I have a top loading Kenmore High capacity dryer that is over 10 years old, it has been working very well, unfortunately when cleaning the lint filter my wife dropped a piece of paper down the lint duct hole. The paper evidently fell to the bottom of the lint duct. I am unable to reach the paper from the top of the dryer where the lint filter is inserted. The dryer now makes a grinding type noise when it is turned on. Can you tell me how to reach the paper and remove it

Dryer Filter

This is true of all models the lint screen cant be made to tightly woven if it was it would block the airflow too much making the dryer to take forever to dry the clothes.
