The date on my Dell pc laptop has somehow been changed to 8/20/2009. It is currently 1/9/2013. I have tried to change back to current date and time (Pacific Standard Time), but every time I log off and reboot, the information is displayed 8/20/2009, time about 9 1/2 hours later than actual time. This seems to be affecting some of my settings and applications PLEASE HELP!!! Thanks.

2 WAYS
Restore default factory settings in setup - Only recover the seetings of your motherboard (date and time, pc health, etc)
Restore Software factory defaults - All hard drive is reinstalled, original software of Dell. Programs like MS Office, all of your data have to be reinserted in the computer.
I didnt understand the "over the phone".

Download the Video driver from Dell's website, Enter your service tag number (which it on a label located on the back of the unit) in the second line on this page. It will bring up the correct driver for your unit.

SOURCE: audio volume keeps changing by itself
No, the headphone output is designed for 2 speaker output. Just recently I had a customer who had no sound coming from the desktop speakers yet the headphones worked just fine.
I believe that your model has a sound circuit integrated into the motherboard. It may have a “plastic cap” covering the audio ports (next to the USB ports). If you remove the sound card and enable the integrated audio in the BIOS, you can check to see if the sound card is actually the problem.

Have you gone into the BIOS to make sure there aren't any power managment features? Do you get the same thing happening if plugged into a different wall socket? Sometimes bad power surges can cause this problem. Other issues have been known to arise from motherboard problems. Or NIC power settings...strangely enough...a quick way to test if it's NIC related might be too unplug any cables from the NIC to see if it stays on or not? There are power settings on NICs in advanced settings. Let me know if any of that helps and remember to rate the solutions. Thanks!
