SOURCE: how to format my corrupted

If you a using a card reader that plugs into your PC and it STILL doesn't read from the card, this means that the card itself is defective and needs to replaced. You CAN try using another card reader to see if that helps.

Hope this helps. :)

SOURCE: Doesn't load

The reader may need re-iinstalling. or the port you are putting it in is incorrect,. try another stick to test the port or try the memory card in another PC to confirm the stick is OK

Sdhc unable to format write protected

SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Also, make sure the device in which you're trying to format the card is SDHC-compatible.

My sd card does not show its property and doesn't format it?

normally when this occurs, its means the SD card is dead and u will need to replace it.

try connecting the sd card into a different computer or another external SD card reader. If it shows up . right click and click format. If it says it cant format it it means the card needs to be replaced.

How to format when the 4gb kingmax micro sd class 4 HC can't be read

Right Click Computer, Properties, Manage, Disk Management. If it doesn't show up here the card is bad. If it shows up as Not Initialized, right click it and initialize it then right click and partition it.

Just purchased a 4GB SD card and I can't take pics...says to format card how do I do that

In most camera there is a setting to do or if you put your SD card into a computer or a card reader (that plugs into a computer) and go to the 'my computer' or 'computer' part you should see the SD card there, you can right-click it and select format.

Formatting is sort of like deleting everything on the card so that a camera or device can make its own working files on it

I can not get our memory card to format. it says card error. we are using a microSDHC Ccard with adapter 4gb

Is the camera compatible with SDHC? If it can only handle SD memory cards this card is not readable in the device. It will show on the camera whether it is compatible with SDHC. If it doesn't have the logo, take it as the card won't work and you'll need to get a normal SD card.

There is a theoretical maximum of 2GB for SD memory cards, SDHC start at 4GB and go up to 32GB.

Simply put, if your camera is quite old, it won't support SDHC and therefore is limited to a maximum of 2GB memory card.

Camera will not format sd card nor does it show a card in the camera

Something tells me that you're trying to use a brand new 4GB SDHC card. If so, your camera was designed before SDHC format came out. You'll need to use standard SD cards, those 2gb or less. Search on Amazon for "SD card 2GB". They run about 6 to 7 dollars total with shipping.
For others with similar problems, There are several possible causes for "memory card locked", "memory card error", or "no memory card". The most common is trying to use a 4GB or higher SDHC card with an older camera made before SDHC format came out. Other causes include problems with the tiny slide switch on the side of the card, or the electrical contact switch internal to the camera. The problem may also arise from simple formatting problems if the card has never been formatted in the camera (note that this will also erase the card). Troubleshooting tips for this problem may be found at this link.

Im using an optio s4 camera and just bought a 4GB SD card. But when I insert the SD card into the camera, there's only a black screen when I turn it on.:( But when I remove the SD card, the camera works...

The Optio S4 works with MMC and SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC card. While it fits into the slot, it is electronically incompatible. You need to go with cards 2GB and smaller.

I have been using a 4gb micro sd memory card when i format card its showing windows was unable to format & displaying 30mb size of card

  • Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader from Amazon.com or Buy.com
  • 2 Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
  • 3 Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
  • 4 In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
  • 5 Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
  • 6 Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.
