E019 means your waste tank is full. In iR1018/iR1020 series copier, waste tank is located at drum unit. First, remove the drum unit from the machine. Second, open the white plastic lid of the waste container. Third, drain the waste. Re-fit the plastic lid of the waste container and re-insert the drum.

Downgrade firmware from 1.5.12 to 1.3.12 and then replace the hard drive, it should work. It does not work with firmware versions superior to 1.3.12. If you have 1.5.13 you can downgrade to 1.5.12 using the normal archos update procedure (yes, from 1.5.13 to 1.5.12 you can freely donwgrade using standard offical method).
