LCD screen isn't working.

Possible that there is loss of sync from the signal and so it is unstable on both the viewfinder and the LCD display. This can be a fault on the main board- processing section. It can also be related to weak passive components or development of moisture. Leave the camera ON for few hours , place it on a warm surface - near to a table lamp and see if the fault changes. If so you need to keep using the camera often to keep the circuits active.

Follow this procedure to troubleshoot if there is no picture or a black screen appears in the viewfinder or LCD when attempting to record.

1. Ensure the lens cap on the front of the camcorder has been removed.
2. Ensure a fully-charged battery is inserted in the camcorder.
3. Ensure the STANDBY/LOCK switch is set to the STANDBY position.
4. Turn on the camcorder and set it to the CAMERA mode.
5. Look to see if an image can be seen in the viewfinder or LCD.
IMPORTANT: Some camcorders have both a viewfinder and LCD. To conserve power, the viewfinder and LCD will not display at the same time. To use the viewfinder, the LCD must be closed.
6. If the issue is not resolved, reset the camcorder to factory specifications.

Most cameras and video recorders now display picture either through the viewfinder or the LCD screen.
Your camera model allows the same. Although if you turn the lcd screen towards the subject (screen faces the same direction as the lens) then the viewfinder switches on.

I work on this model of samsung the lcd problem is a common thing with this camera
The ribbon cable to the lcd from the camera cracks and causes what you are talking about .
Normally the camera will still work buy using the eye viewfinder for recording and playback but you will not hear the sound unless the lcd door is open but then the picture in the viewfinder goes away when this door is open and comes back when it is closed

hi..Please to pass on the remedy..I had this two weeks ago.. lcd ribbon is brocken.. breaks over time with being opened and closed.. Part available form partmaster.co.uk.. part no..SAMAD9706489A.. lcd fpc ***. easy to replce ..take you time and try yourself.. if i can help with instructions [email protected].. cost of ribon £11.49.. i think you are able too see the video in play back mode. so there is no problem in your LCD.
i think the CCD has got damaged in your CAM. that is why you are not able to view anything in shooting mode.
because CCD is the layer which converts the light falling on it to a electrical signal and shows us as a complete image.

If the LCD display is open, the viewfinder becomes inactive. Shut the LCD display, and the image should appear through the viewfinder. If there is still no image, the camcorder may require service.
