First, Look for a "popped capacitor", the top of the cap should be flat, IF it is rounded then it is "popped", that needs replacing.
Next, Have you also tried several other AC adapters?
Last, How many hours have to got "into" fixing this? More than a day? More than two days? More than a month? IF more than a month, keep the hard drive, CD/DVD Rom, CPU, memory, screen and wifi card (if any) and toss the rest. Then purchase a new/er laptop along with a USB adapter cord to connect your old laptop hard drive... so you can pull your old info onto the new computer...
Then, sell the other parts on ebay/(wherever)...
First you try with removing the ram and clean it and insert it again also if you have tft monitor just connect the vga cable and see are you getting the display on tft screen. Hope this helps. Please rate my response. Thanks. Have a good day.
