Treadmill belt runs too fast and will not power off with control panel

Safety key with lanyard not inserted, turn on power and belt immediately starts and quickly reaches higher speed than I've ever used or was aware it could go. When safety key is inserted or not, makes no difference but all digitals are displayed with key engaged but do not work. Stop/Pause depressed - no reaction, Incline numbers change but incline does not physically change on treadmill.

treadmill belt runs too fast and will not power of - 1_7_2013_11_03_18_pm.gif

Step 2:

The Steps for Newer Style Console Calibration:
  1. Locate the calibration area on the rear or underside of the console (a hole, near the console's center, that goes through to the electronics board. (This hole should not have a screw in it.)
  2. Insert a pencil (eraser end), into the hole and feel around for the cal button (will click when pressed).
  3. Press the button 2 times (with the pencil eraser). The first click should show CL11 in the console, the second click should show CL21.
  4. If the process was done correctly, and CL21 appears in the console, you are in "calibration mode." The next few steps consists of pressing buttons on the console and observing settings. This will not require any other tools.
  5. Press ENTER. CL22 should display in the TIME window and (??) in the SPEED window.
  6. Press ENTER. CL23 should display in the TIME window and (??) in the SPEED window.
  7. Press ENTER. CL24 should display in the TIME window and (??) in the SPEED window.
  8. Press ENTER. CL25 should display in the TIME window and (??) in the SPEED window.
  9. Press ENTER. CL26 should display in the TIME window. You should then see the letter "E."
  10. Press ENTER. You should see "SS" or "55" in the console.
  11. Push the STOP/START button. For safety, at this point, you should step off, or be off, the treadmill.
  12. Push the ENTER button. The walking belt should start to move, accelerate to maximum speed, then stop on its own.
  13. When the belt stops, the incline should self test by raising to its highest incline position, then lowering back down to its lowest position.
  14. Once the incline test is complete, push the POWER button 2 times. The unit should shut off and the console should go completely blank. If this happens, the treadmill is done calibrating and is ready for use.
  15. If the letter "F" appears in the SPEED or INCLINE window when the power button is pressed 2 times, the treadmill is indicating a failure somewhere either in the SPEED or INCLINE (depending on the window the "F" appeared in). Troubleshooting the failure would be the next step.

SOURCE: Pro-Form Sport 1000 treadmill does not stop inclining

Do a Calibration on the treadmill. Take out the safety key. With 2 fingers, hold down the stop button and the speed up or spped plus button. keep holding them down as you insert the safety key, then let go of both.
Press the stop button 1 time, you should see all 0's in the windows, or EP 2P or something weird like that.
Press the Incline up button and then wait. If the incline go up until it stalls then down until it stalls the stops at the bottom, the you are recalibrated, take out the safery key and put it back in to see if all is well. If the incline takes off up again without touching a button, the you have wiring problems or control problems. Call service company to get it repaired.

SOURCE: Treadmill incline error

Try this, it fixed it for me, if it doesn't work let me know
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MIIxoPtvhy8

I bought a used Precor 9.4 treadmill, but the incline adjustment was not working.
So, I did the following.
1. Turn off, unplug the treadmill and wait for an hour (this is for safety
2. Remove the black motor cover
3. Observe the transformer to the right of the motor and towards the belt ( I point to it in the video)
This transformer converts DC electricity to AC electricity and the AC current goes directly to the Incline motor which is in the black box towards the front of the machine.
4. On mine the wires had come loose from the transformer, they were soldered on very poorly, the wires are stiff and you should be able to see 4 wires coming from the top of the circuit board and plugging into the transformer, I had three of the 4 wires loose.
5. If you are not comfortable working with electronics or soldering DO NOT DO THIS REPAIR, you could get shocked very badly if you just go poking around in there with metal objects, get a friend who knows how to solder or hire someone.

6. It took about 5 minutes I just heated up my $10 soldering gun from radio shack and soldered all the loose wires that were about a millimeter away from the tabs on the back of the transformer, and VOILA! The incline now works!

SOURCE: Treadmill Incline Works, belt does not move

Check the drive belt. It may be loose or broken. If the belt is loose, then to tighten the drive belt, start by removing the front cover. loosen the bolts around the motor then tighten the drive belt by tightening the motor adjuster bolt. Once the drive belt is tight, tighten the motor back down.

SOURCE: I have a proform xp 580. when I turn it on,

Press the Stop and the Speed Up keys down while inserting the safety key.
Press the Stop key one time. The Time window should read EP:2P. Some newer models may also say FP, Pass, or the like. This means that it passes the EPROM test.
Press either incline key and the incline will calibrate automatically.
After completing calibration of incline, press the Stop key and then remove the safety key.

I have a Pro-Form 580X. Power display comes on, but belt won't move. Buttons on display screen won't work either

It seems like you're experiencing issues with your Pro-Form 580X treadmill. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

Safety Key: Ensure that the safety key is properly inserted into the console. Treadmills typically have a magnetic safety key that must be in place for the treadmill to operate.

Circuit Breaker: Check if there's a circuit breaker on the treadmill. If it has tripped, reset it. This is often located near the power cord entry point.

Power Source: Verify that the treadmill is properly plugged into a functioning power outlet. Test the outlet with another device to make sure it's working.

Calibration: Some treadmills require periodic calibration. Check the user manual for instructions on how to calibrate your specific model.

Check for Obstructions: Ensure that there are no obstructions or debris around the belt or underneath the treadmill that might be preventing it from moving.

Lubrication: Treadmill belts may require lubrication. Consult your user manual for guidance on how to lubricate the belt properly.

Control Panel: If the control panel buttons are not responding, it could indicate an issue with the console or wiring. You may need to contact Pro-Form customer support or a technician for further assistance.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, it's advisable to reach out to Pro-Form customer support or a qualified technician for a more thorough diagnosis and potential repairs.

My NordicTrack E3000 will turn on but the walk belt won't turn. What are potential solutions for this?

If the NordicTrack E 3000 belt won't turn, there are a few things you can check to fix the issue:
  1. Power source: Make sure the treadmill is plugged in and the power switch is turned on. If the treadmill is not receiving power, the belt will not turn.
  1. Safety key: Check that the safety key is properly inserted into the console. The treadmill will not operate without the safety key in place.
  1. Belt tension: Check the tension of the belt by lifting it in the center. The belt should lift about 2-3 inches off the deck. If the belt is too loose or too tight, adjust the tension bolts at the back of the treadmill.

  1. Lubrication: Check the belt for signs of wear or dryness. If the belt is dry or worn, it may need to be lubricated or replaced. Apply a silicone-based lubricant to the belt if needed.

  1. Motor: Check the motor for signs of damage or wear. If the motor is not functioning properly, it may need to be repaired or replaced.

  1. Circuit breaker: Check the circuit breaker on the treadmill. If it has tripped, reset it and try again.
If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may be necessary to contact a professional technician for further assistance.

My treadmill run for a few second and stops

There could be several reasons why your treadmill is stopping after running for only a few seconds. Here are a few things you can check:
  1. Power source: Make sure your treadmill is properly plugged in and that the power outlet is working.
  2. Safety key: Ensure that the safety key is in place and fully inserted into the console. If the safety key is not properly inserted, the treadmill will not function.
  3. Motor: If the motor is not working properly, the treadmill may stop after running for only a few seconds. Check the motor by turning the treadmill on and listening for any unusual noises.
  4. Belt: A loose or worn-out belt can cause the treadmill to stop running. Check the belt tension and replace the belt if necessary.
  5. Control board: If the control board is malfunctioning, it can cause the treadmill to stop running. Check the control board for any signs of damage or wear.
If you are unable to diagnose the issue, it may be best to contact a professional to come and take a look at your treadmill.

Hello my nordictrack c2000 will not stay running. When I push the start button the belt moves for a second and then the whole machine resets. How do I fix this?

Here are a few potential solutions to try:
  1. Check the power source: Make sure the treadmill is properly plugged into a working outlet, and check that the circuit breaker or fuse is not tripped.
  2. Check the safety key: The safety key is a small plastic key that is inserted into the console to allow the treadmill to operate. Make sure that the key is properly inserted and that the key is not worn or damaged.
  3. Check the console: Make sure that the console is properly connected to the treadmill, and that the console is not damaged or malfunctioning.
  4. Check the belt: Make sure that the belt is properly aligned and tensioned. If the belt is loose or out of alignment, it can cause the machine to reset.
  5. Check the motor: If the above steps do not fix the problem, the motor may be malfunctioning and needs to be repaired or replaced.
  6. Check the control board: If the above steps do not fix the problem, the control board may be malfunctioning and needs to be repaired or replaced.

Reset an image 15.0 r treadmill

Here are a few potential solutions to try:
  1. Check the safety key: Make sure that the safety key is securely inserted into the treadmill. The safety key is a small plastic key that is inserted into a slot on the console. It's a safety feature that prevents the treadmill from running without the key in place.
  2. Check the power source: Make sure that the treadmill is plugged in and that the outlet is working properly. Try plugging in a different device to the outlet to ensure that it is providing power.
  3. Check the reset switch: The reset switch is a small button or switch located on the treadmill's control board, which is typically located behind the control panel. Pressing the reset switch should turn off the power to the treadmill, and then turn it back on, similar to unplugging and plugging the device back in. Press the reset switch and check if the treadmill starts.
  4. Check the belt: Make sure that the belt is properly aligned and tightened. If the belt is loose or misaligned, it can prevent the treadmill from starting.
  5. Check the motor controller: The motor controller is the component responsible for controlling the treadmill's motor speed. If the motor controller is faulty, the treadmill will not start. To check if the motor controller is faulty, you can use a multimeter to check the voltage at the motor controller terminals. If there is no voltage, then the motor controller is faulty and needs to be replaced.
If none of these solutions work, then the issue may be with the internal components of the treadmill, which may require professional repair. It's best to consult the manual or contact the manufacturer or a professional technician for further assistance.

Belt problem

f the walking belt slips when walked on, first remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD.Using the hex key, turn both idler roller bolts clockwise,1/4 of a turn. When the walking belt is correctly tightened, you should be able to lift each edge of the walking belt 2 to 3 in. (5 to 7 cm) off the walking platform. Be careful to keep the walking belt centered. Then, plug in the power cord, insert the key, and carefully walk on the treadmill for a few minutes. Repeat until the walking belt is properly tightened.
