1 pair are a"he loves me he loves me not sandals", 2nd pair are a wedge Mary Jane shoe, 3rd pair are a twins black sandal (rubber black soles) 4th pair are red boots with pointy toe and a round heel again rubber soles but brown in color all the soles have split and as the soles are quiet thick I am guessing it would be very difficult to repair them in a shoe repair shop.
I'm thinking of buying them, is there any specific solution to this problem?
Depending on the severity, you could try shoe goo

Difficulty: Easy 1. 1 Get a tube of super glue--any brand name should do. Just the regular type should do, no need for any extra strength formulas or special types. Make sure the tube has been properly opened at this time--the seal on the tube has had a hole punched in it, in other words. 2. Get the shoe(s) that need its/their sole(s) fixed. Where the sole is coming apart on the shoe, squirt in a good amount of super glue, but not too much that it will gush out. (If it does, try to wipe off the excess). 3. Hold the sole and shoe together for the recommended drying time or until they seal. Try not to get any glue on your fingers at this time, as it can stick flesh to other objects. 4.

Things You'll Need:
The sole should be fixed at this time. Sometimes it has to be done over if the drying time hasn't been followed or the glue might have some problem with it. Repeat this procedure for other shoes to be fixed
apply the same proedure for your broken part insted of repacing it

These sandals are a little different from just rubber sandals but the remedies may still work. First of all you can buy Ecco products like the foam cleaner or the waterproofer which might help get rid of the smell and stop it from coming back. Click here for a website that has those products. Or you may want to try just some home remedies which I have recommended people with rubber shoes try. A quick fix can be to wash the sandals by hand once in a while to get them from smelling. Use soap or alcohol to scrub them off and put outside to dry, but since your shoes are not rubber alcohol might effect them differently. This may get rid of what collects on the sandals and gets rid of the smell. Then let them air dry, putting them in the sun can be most effective. These solutions should help if not try the old trick of putting a bag freshener in you bag when you put them away.

I have found that a simple phone call can do wonders! Companies such as Hush Puppies has built a reputation which I am sure they want to uphold, so customer service and satisfaction is important to them. Their phone number is 1-866-699-7365 (M-F, 9:00 - 7:00). Here is a link to their site as well:

I highly suggest a phone call rather than an email. Simply explain what happened (and it wouldn't hurt to say something like "I am a big fan of Hush Puppies and have never had this problem before.") and offer a solution (i.e., you will pay to ship the shoes back if they will send you a replacement pair or fix yours). Companies are more receptive if you already have a solution in mind rather than just calling to complain and vent. And no matter how rude the person on the other end of the phone is, maintain your composure and be abrupt but polite. If the person is not willing to help you (even if they say they are sorry but there is just nothing they can do), ask to speak to the manager/supervisor. ALWAYS get the name (first and last) of the person you are speaking with and make a note of it. If the manager/supervisor does not assist you to your satisfaction then keep moving up the chain.
If after all your efforts they still say "no," then repeat their names and let them know that you are going to report them to the Better Business Bureau (or whatever version you have in your country). Don't be surprised if they change their tune!
Good luck and "walk on!"
Happy shopping!

This happened to 4 of my 4 Camper shoes and boots. One pair of the boots, the heels split and crumbled completely. All were in good shape, stored properly, and not worn that much. Camper refuses to fix or replace. For the price of their shoes, they should stand by the materials/workmanship. I have decided to not buy from Camper any more. Ecco and Birkenstock are better shoes and guarantee their products...
