Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program, such as Picasa ( http://picasa.google.com ).

I suspect you battery has died,this happened to me the other month.
Easily fixed by buying a new battery, got mine off Ebay £7.99

It might mean the battery is low and the flash is trying to charge.

The ViviCam does not record any audio with video.

The flash is intended to provide instantaneous illumination for still pictures. It does not provide continuous lighting for videos.

As of Sep 2008 Vivitar stopped trading in the UK, so I think you may have a problem. In any case, if the screen is broken it would almost certainly not be worth repairing it.

The capacitor who charges the flash unit pop up and it needs replacement complete flash unit assembly, Contact any expert nearby to replace complete flash unit assembly.

This website distributes Vivitar manuals, the 8010 is not available, but they have very similar models.

Unfortunately the manual is not available elsewhere.
