SOURCE: trying to fix this toshiba laptop that does not

If this problem has not yet occurred, then check your computer's BIOS version, and update it, if a newer BIOS is available.
For Windows Vista, click the Windows Start button, type "msinfo32" in the Search field, and press Enter. The System Information utility will appear, listing the computer's BIOS version in the pane at right.
For Windows XP, click the Windows Start button, click Run, type "msinfo32" in the Open field, and press Enter. The System Information utility will appear, listing the computer's BIOS version in the pane at right.
Next, visit the Toshiba Support website, at support.toshiba.com, click Download, choose your computer from the model lists, and click Go. On the search results page, click the All Categories field, then click BIOS. A new results page will appear, showing just the current BIOS version for your computer. If you click the link for the BIOS, the Change History will appear, allowing you to review revisions to successive versions of the BIOS. The fix for the password prompt problem may be listed as "auto password prompt pop-ups", or a similar phrase.
If the version number of the BIOS listed on the Toshiba Support website is greater (newer) than the BIOS version displayed by the System Information utility, then connect the AC adapter to the computer, and click the Download Now button to download and install the BIOS.
For more help, see Support Bulletin 98081213 Obtaining downloads and support docs from the Toshiba Support website.
If the problem has already occurred on your computer, then please make arrangements with a Toshiba Authorized Service Provider to have this problem resolved. Toshiba will cover the cost of this repair under warranty until Dec 31, 2010.

How to fix my flat screen t.v.?

Check all the AC input connections. As the power board is new, the TV should show standby light at least, when you switch it ON.

Check whether there is a line fuse inserted at AC path. Check whether there is a plug-fuse included inside the power plug.

Red light is on in the back of my t300 tower speakers

That is the standby mode but if its not kicking out of standby mode it could be a fuse issue

The T300 uses a 2.5A fuse.

To replace the fuse:

1. Unplug the AC cord from the AC power source,

then remove the AC power cord from the speaker's

power connector.

2. Remove the fuse cap with a small, flat blade screwdriver

(see diagram 2).

3. Remove the fuse from the fuse cap

(see diagram 3).

4. Replace the fuse inside fuse cap with another metric

5X20mm size fuse

5. Replace the fuse inside the cap, replace the fuse

and cap in the power connector (see diagram 5).

6. Connect the AC power cord to the speaker and

raise it upright.
7. Connect the power cord to an AC power outlet

The power will not come on

Hi.

If the TV is completely off, then usually it is either the power cord or the PSU. First test the TV using a different wall socket, eventually use an extension.
If the power cord is fused, then replace the fuse in the AC power plug.
If that does not work, then power cord and PSU must be tested and eventually replaced.
In some unfrequent occasion a faulty main controller can cause no power. This is rather uncommon.

If the TV is instead in standby, then there are more parts that must be tested.
Forced standby is a mode that is often called protection, and that will start up when the main controller boards detects a fault or an incorrect voltage.
In this case the PSU is forced to standby (only +3.3V or +5V active). The technician must test parts individually to find out what part needs replacement.

If you want to verify your warranty status, or if you want to book a repairer you can ring the support number listed in the TV owners manual or in the TV manufacturer's website.

Connection problems

Attach the AC power cord or adjust the power saving mode so the unit does not go into "standby" mode. This is caused by the unit going into "standby" mode when data is being transferred.
