RUN the software calibration for diagnose, and fix it.
God bless you

The Steps for Newer Style Console Calibration:

  1. Locate the calibration area on the rear or underside of the console (a hole, near the console's center, that goes through to the electronics board. (This hole should not have a screw in it.)

  2. Insert a pencil (eraser end), into the hole and feel around for the cal button (will click when pressed).

  3. Press the button 2 times (with the pencil eraser). The first click should show CL11 in the console, the second click should show CL21.

  4. If the process was done correctly, and CL21 appears in the console, you are in "calibration mode." The next few steps consists of pressing buttons on the console and observing settings. This will not require any other tools.

  5. Press ENTER. CL22 should display in the TIME window and (??) in the SPEED window.

  6. Press ENTER. CL23 should display in the TIME window and (??) in the SPEED window.

  7. Press ENTER. CL24 should display in the TIME window and (??) in the SPEED window.

  8. Press ENTER. CL25 should display in the TIME window and (??) in the SPEED window.

  9. Press ENTER. CL26 should display in the TIME window. You should then see the letter "E."

  10. Press ENTER. You should see "SS" or "55" in the console.

  11. Push the STOP/START button. For safety, at this point, you should step off, or be off, the treadmill.

  12. Push the ENTER button. The walking belt should start to move, accelerate to maximum speed, then stop on its own.

  13. When the belt stops, the incline should self test by raising to its highest incline position, then lowering back down to its lowest position.

  14. Once the incline test is complete, push the POWER button 2 times. The unit should shut off and the console should go completely blank. If this happens, the treadmill is done calibrating and is ready for use.

  15. If the letter "F" appears in the SPEED or INCLINE window when the power button is pressed 2 times, the treadmill is indicating a failure somewhere either in the SPEED or INCLINE (depending on the window the "F" appeared in). Troubleshooting the failure would be the next step.

Hi,

This seems to be an issue with Signal Generator. If you have a problem with the signal generator, your speed will be erratic with either a person on the machine or without a person on the machine. You may even get a speed error code from the unit.

The procedure to check the same is :-

Let me know, if need further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

SOURCE: client run on treadmill then

hi,
There are two possibilities for this problem
1. Check the speed sensor on near the motor pulley. Remove the sensor and clean it and re-fix it. then make a try. if problem remains then
2. The motor speed controller is faulty. There is an IGBT for controlling the motor speed. If it get shorted the motor will run it its high speed.

Be sure before opening the treadmill remove the power.

NordicTrack treadmill EXP 1000

Please note that these instructions don't apply to all models of treadmills. Many recent models, including all models with touchscreen consoles, do not have the capability for the user to calibrate the speed.
Speed calibration is a process that is used to correct imbalances in the machine's operating speed.
Please note that this procedure involves pushing the machine to its maximum speed very quickly. Do NOT stand on the treadmill while performing this procedure.
First, you need to enter calibration mode on the console. To do this, press and hold the STOP and SPEED INCREASE buttons (this will be either an up arrow or a + (plus) symbol). While holding these buttons, insert the safety key onto the console. This will cause the machine to go into calibration mode. After this has occurred, you may let go of the buttons and the safety key.
Next, press the stop button once. This will enter advance the screen to the next feature of calibration mode. As said previously, do not stand on the treadmill while performing this procedure. Press and hold the speed increase button. Watch the console. You will see a number on the display that will increase as you hold the speed increase button. Continue to hold the speed increase button until the number changes to "85." This will take the treadmill to its maximum speed, which will also be displayed on the console. Please note that the example below only demonstrates the console displaying "85", not the treadmill's operating speed.

OS or O5 Error on Landice L-Series Treadmills

Probable Cause

An OS or O5 error on the Landice L-Series treadmills, such as the L7, L8 and L9, indicates an over speed condition and this occurs when the actual speed of the running belt is faster than the set speed. The possible causes for an overspeed, OS or O5, error are: A) User weight is over 200lbs, treadmill elevation is set between 10% and 15% grade and speed is set between .5 mph and 3 mph
B) User is pushing against treadmill belt causing it to go faster than the set speed
C) Defective lower board or misaligned speed sensor
D) Maladjusted speed potentiometer

Corrective Action

A) Gravitational force will enable the user's weight to move the treadbelt faster than the set speed. The speed sensor will pick up this increase in flywheel speed and sends this information up to the display electronics. The microprocessor will then compare the actual speed to the displayed speed, determine a runaway speed condition and shut the treadmill down. An overspeed will display in the window. This is a safety feature built into all treadmills that utilize closed loop speed circuitry. The way to address an over speed condition due to gravity is have the user decrease elevation below 10% or increase the speed.

B) Similar to the gravitational force, a user can be holding onto the handrails and pushing the running belt in such a manner where they are using the treadmill like a manual machine rather than a motorized one. User needs to set speed compatible for their actual walking or jogging speed so they are not pushing the belt.

C) It's possible a blown motor control board is the problem. This occurs more frequently with PWM drives than SCR drives. However, this problem is becoming rare due to the PWM circuitry which senses this condition and shuts itself down before the drive motor receives any DC voltage at all. This means you'll get an LS or L5 error if your PWM is blown, not an OS or O5 error. This is a safety feature on all Landice home treadmills with PWM motor control boards. The SCR motor control boards also have internal protection to prevent an over speed condition from occuring due to an internal component failure. In the rarest of cases, on home treadmills, a faulty relay board can cause an OS or O5. To verify this, using a digital voltmeter, with treadmill turned on, measure the DC voltage between the V+ and P1 on the PWM board. The reading should be between 6-7 VDC. Also measure the DC voltage between P1 and P2 on the PWM board. The reading should be between 0.5 VDC and 6-7 VDC. If either of these voltages measure zero, replace the relay board.

D) Get into Open Loop Speed mode and check the speed. Adjust pots as necessary to bring up correct speed for max and min.

Why wont it run?

Is the motor running? If not, is it receiving power? Is the belt slipping? If motor has brushes, they might need replacement.

I have an E-4 sign coming up on the treadmill. I still dont have a clue how to calibrate it or anything. i bought it over the internet and there was no instruction manual that came with it. i really need...

Dear Sir:
This is guide for software calibration in Horizon. Please see under your Hood for motor the instruction for step in calibration.
Turn the treadmill power to "On." Place the safety key in its place on the treadmill console.

  • 2 Simultaneously press and hold the incline "+" and speed "-" buttons for approximately five seconds: The console will beep and display the software version in either the "Time" window or the "Calories/Elevation" window.
  • 3 Press "Start" and allow the running belt to begin moving. The belt should start at 0.5 mph. If this speed is not the speed your treadmill starts at, adjust the speed cube screw located under the control board. Turn the screw to slowly to the right to increase the speed or slowly to the left to decrease the speed.
  • 4 Verify this speed is correct by counting the running belt revolutions per minute. At 0.5 mph, the running belt should make four revolutions in a minute for the Alpine and Advance 500 models and four-and-a-half revolutions for all other models.
  • 5 Press and hold the "Stop" button for three seconds to exit the engineering menu.
  • sincerely. God bless you.

To calibrate the speed follow these steps.
Press stop and speed up and place the safety key in its spot.
release the stop and speed up.
Press stop again. The windows on the console (speed & time) will be all zeros.
Press speed up, the time window will increase. The belt should start to move. Increase this number to 85. This is maximum speed. Adjust the potentiometer to the correct maximum speed. The console will beep until the correct speed is adjusted (+ or - .2mph).
If the machine suddenly goes dead when in use, you may have a static electricity problem.
Check that the ground pin is present on the plug and check your outlet for a proper ground connection.

We have a 600 mx and the pad is not working, the only button working is the start, i cannot increase speed or incline it either.

It is very unusual to have no incline or walking belt operation..
Try entering diagnostic mode and do a calibration. The instructions are found under the motor cover on a tech sheet.
1: with the safety key removed, press stop and speed up simultaniously.
2: Attach the magnetic safety key.
    3: press stop 1 time.
4: at this time, by pressing the incline up, the incline should calibrate, going up to maximum then back to minimum..
5: press the speed up key, you will see the numbers on the console increase. The machine should start moving the walking belt around 25-30 on the display. At 85 the belt should be running at maximum speed.
6: press speed down, the machine should stop.
7: remove the safety key. Now replace the safety key and try the machine again. If any of this procedure didn't work, I would suspect a defective console. Otherwise, the motor controller may need replacing.
    Good Luck

My ProForm 750 only runs at low speed. Varying

If u r seeing the increasing variation takeing effect on the panel but the speed does not increase in real, then there is nothing wrong with the push button for sure.
what it could be is ,
    1. Your motor is getting overheat quickly and does not accept the higher speed commands.
    2. it could be a belt slip also (do u hear any extra noice / vibration when u increase speed)
    3. next time, pls unplugg the unit for atleast 4 hrs and when u start after that increse the speed very next moment and see if it works. if it does increase this way then it is time take look first on the belt ans then check the motor.

    Good luck.
