Try adjusting the pressure on the presser foot, or make sure your feed dog are in up position and moving forward

It probably needs gears replaced or has a loose gear. Unfortunately you need to take it in to a repair shop. (I am assuming that you are not in button hole or have the stitch length set to zero).
good luck!

SOURCE: Kenmore Model (385.15108200) Fabric not moving

hi! there if your feed dog does not move the fabric forward or backward,if this is so try to run machine w/o the fabric check if feed dog move on cycle, the teeth should be moving upward and downward rotation pushing action on your fabric, the teeth should come out to the plate slot of feed dog.if not adjust upward, and adjust also the presser foot of needle.if your feed dog is not moving when machine running, thre is a mechanical disengage or loosen in shuttle assymble and feeder dog mechanism they link together ubder the machine,as the shuttle move on one stroke the feeder also move also with the needle.Chesk the adjustment and link mechanism.in addition to this try to clean feed dogs by brush chips thread and fabrics sometimes stored on mechanism of feed dogs and shuttle.

SOURCE: My kenmore 385 won't feed fabric

Check to see what pattern is selected. Be sure it isn't the buttonhole.Select straight stitch.Move the stitch length setting to 4.Turn the handwheel and see if the feed dogs move forward. Press the reverse lever and see if they move backwards. Select straight stretch stitch and turn the wheel to see if the feed dogs move forward and backward.Check the presser foot release on top of the machine and make sure there is pressure on the foot.
Sometimes the reverse assembly on this machine stops working because it has the wrong type of grease on it and it turns into a hard gummy mess that won't let it work.

SOURCE: Kenmore sewing machine # 385.17626

I had the same problem and had recently posted my own message, with no replies. Took it to a repair person and he fixed it at no cost - it was stuck in reverse because the mechanism(s) were all gunked up. Take off the accessory box on the machine and the bottom plate. move the mechanism so they move freely and take out any gunk you see. The feeder dogs should now move back & forth in addition to up & down, feeding the material properly

Fabric won't feed threw machine

it sounds like the feed dogs are not working, can you see them in the
needle plate area? you should be able to see them and feel them
with your finger. what is the name and model of the sewing machine?

Feet not feeding and thread bunching up

the presser foot or what ever foot your sewing with does not feed the
fabric,, the feed dogs in the needle plate are what moves the fabric
to be sewed, the feet only hold the fabric against feed dog so the
machine can use the needle to sew the fabric.
if the fabric is not moving then the feed dogs have to be checked
can you see the feed dogs in the needle plate area are the up or
down?
do you have a manual for the machine?
a manual help to know where the feed dog lever is, I'm sending
you a link for a manual for the machine, so you can look for the feed
dog lever, if the feed dogs are up then there is something wrong
with the feed dogs & they need to be checked.
but if the feed dogs are down then look in the manual & see where
the feed dog lever is & put it in the up position & see if that brings
the feed dogs up to the sewing position, if the feed dogs do not
come up then the feed dogs need to be checked.

Feed dogs won't move

No info on the sewing machine make or model. It sounds like something is binding up, is bent, or is tangled in the machine. Look around the front and back of the sewing area for a switch to lower the feed dogs.

Good luck

My fabric dosnt move foward or back wards with the petal or manually ..

if the fabric won't move then there is something wrong with the
feed dogs, check in the needle plate to see if you can see the feed
dogs. you should be able to see them & touch them with your finger
since they are not moving the fabric it would be a good idea to
have the machine checked
I'm putting a link for a free manual for the machine, you can check
in the manual to see if it show where the feed dog lever is on the
machine, if it doesn't show a lever, or the lever is not responding to
movement then the machine needs to be checked to see what's
wrong.

The machine won't stitch anything...

check the feed dogs in the needle plate area to see if there up,
if you can see them & touch them with your finger, I'm putting in a link
for a free manual, so you can see where the lever is to the feed dogs, just
incase they are not up. if they are up then they may need to be checked
to see why they aren't moving the fabric.

Feed dogs not moving properly

it's very possible that the feed dogs are out of time & the machine would have to be serviced at a sewing machine repair shop

O.comI'm having a couple of problems: it seems like the feed dogs need to be adjusted because I need to gently pull the fabric through, from the back, otherwise the fabric won't advance & I...

if you have a manual check where your feed dog knob is, push the knob in the opposite direction,,if that doesn't help then something may be wrong with the feed dogs,,you should be able to see the feed dogs in the needle plate area & to feel them with your fingers.
you may need to have the machine serviced at a sewing shop

My Janome Harmony 1017 won't sew all the zigzag stitches. Stitches 5,7 and 8 bog down after just two or three stitches because the fabric isn't moving through the machine. Any suggestions?

when the fabric does not move then the feed dogs under the needle plate need to be checked to see if there up or down.
if the feed dogs are down then the lever or switch needs to be pushed up into the correct position
if the feed dogs are up & they are not moving the fabric like there suppose to, cause it's there job to move the fabric against the presser foot,, then they need to be check

the gears that do the zig zag stitches should be checked to make sure there not worn & weather they might need be be greased
