The battery is being replaced, but when I try to plug it in without battery, it wont turn on. Is my power supply shot too? Or could the computer be screwed? I hope not, I have no money to replace it. Please give some advice fast, I have an assignment due this week, And I need my computer for video editing. Thanks- Noah C.

Just had the same thing happen, and I thought it was the motherboard. Then a tech friend removed the battery and held the power button down. Then he replaced the battery, and it booted up fine! Good luck...

If the pc is fully charged, dont leave it plugged in. Mine gets hot but I've experienced ones that were hot to-the-touch...I'd say be careful leaving it on charge when you are not at home.
SOURCE: How do I replace the cmos battery in a ASUS Eee PC
i think the cmos battery is under the keyboard. if it is there should be two screws under the laptop that will have the simbol of a keyboard, remove these and take out the keyboard. hope this helps
