Hello,

What is the exact model of the watch. I have several Timex Electronic watches that might fit your description. If you pop the caseback do you see the old battery inside? Most batteries would have a reference like: CR2016.

SOURCE: Can't See Display Timex Ironman Triathlon

I have an Ironman also and I agree it is harder to replace the battery than you think. There are electrical contact surfaces inside that have miniscule tolerances in terms of the spacing they have for clearance. You are expected to press on these things with tweezers to reset the battery (as discussed elsewhere on the web), but if they get bent down, they will short out the circuit (a permanently blank display), or the might be out of alignment (a reset every time you press one of the control buttons on the outide of the watch). If you think this has happened to you, open the case (again) you can use a small tool to carefully lift the metal contact back up off the contact plate. Also make sure the back of the case is on tight as this also plays a role the electromechanics of this watch.

Other than that, I admit I really like the Ironman, so easy to use and set.

Good Luck

SOURCE: How do I release the

I just had this problem, and my 8 year old and I had to fiddle a bit to figure it out.

Just to confirm, you have removed the back cover and taken the watch guts out of the face and strap assembly and are looking at the battery which has a cover over it and maybe a sticker on the cover that says "unlatch to remove battery", with two >'s, one pointing to to each side?

On each side there are two small metal tabs, which surround a small moulded-in plastic piece with an opening in the middle.

The release is in that opening in the plastic piece. You need to fish around in that opening a little to catch the release and push it outward toward the edge of the watch (away from the battery). You need something very small to do this with, like a straight pin. If successful, the cover pops up on one side and then you do the same on the other side.

Good luck.

Ironman Timex what time should I change day and date

Hello Norma,

As a matter of...

INTERNATIONAL time standard indicates the time always
changes BETWEEN 1 & 2 am...

General CLOCK-WORK standards HIGHLY recommend
MECHANICAL timers, clocks chronometers & chronographs
always ONLY be advanced... (or stopped)...!!

I have a two year old timex indigo which the green light feature no longer works. The stem no longer presses down. Any suggestions will be appretiated.

Hello Pat Trevino,

My best suggestion is to send (or take) your watch
to your NEAREST TIMEX authorized service center.
(see Returns below: Contacts: address & phones)

The FIRST watch I ever bought for myself is the TIMEX Automatic... Still keeps good time after 51+ years
(certainly better than I do)...

Since then I have gathered a few more watches,
chronometers & chronographs.

Takes a licking & keeps on ticking (John Cameron Swayze)

How do i reset date after battery change? or where can i cet a pdf file a9no calliber number on case or movement but its a timex perpetual with indigo light approx 30 yers old

to reset the date manually, pull the stem out to the second position to reset TIME; manually continue setting time until the date is on the correct day/date.
I had to do this to get back to the proper date when my timex was off by a week. Nothing else worked. 14 times around (twice per 24 hour day) and each time I passed "midnight" the date advanced.

My timex watch changes the date at noon instead of midnight. How do I fix this?

Hello,
This is because you have reversed am with pm.
Set your watch 12 hours back and the problem should be solved.
You might want to wait till midnight or noon to check it's fine.

Note: if you see the day shows the previous day rather than the present day, you have to set the clock 24h ahead.
Problem solved!

DATE WONT CHANGE

If you have the crown in the first click position (date set position) the date set wheel is most likely damaged. Otherwise, if it does not change in 24 hours, it is the date wheel itself that is damaged.

This happens in all watches over time, as even quartz watches must technically be serviced every 3-5 years. 90% of manufacturers quote this as the standard service rate for quartz and mechanical watches.

If this watch has sentimental value, and you will want to contact a local Certified Master Horologist or Certified Quartz Technician about replacing the movement. Replacing Timex movements is generally more expensive than purchasing a new watch.

If the watch is still in warranty, you may consider contacting Timex about replacing the watch free of charge at: [email protected]

I have a Timex I bought in 2007 on the back of the watch it says CR 2016 cell and WR 100m. The time started to catch on a certain time and stopped the date from working properly, I need to know how to...

Hi,

You should probably replace the battery using a new CR2016 battery. Let the watch set a while without the battery to help it reset. WR 100m just means the watch is "Water Resistant to 100 Meters". Then use the following info.

Timex has two ways to find information about your particular watch. Some of these models only have a guide consisting of a few pages. If you don't have the manual, Try this link:

Complete Timex link site:
http://www.timex.com/info/Product_Instruction_Guides_Downloads

Now, look up the model number, or if you cannot find that, check the three-digit Module Number from the back of the watch. Click on it in the Module Table, and download a PDF of your watch setting-instructions/manual.

If you need further help, call Timex in Little Rock, Arkansas, phone 1-800-448-4639.

I hope this helps you. Thanks, Bill

I cannot set the calendar for this watch...can anyone help me?

mcdevito75 here, Your watch (Timex) may have a 2 position stem. Push the stem (winder) all the way in, NOW just lift the stem a little to it:s first position, this should allow the date, (number ) to change, change that number to the date before the date you want, NOW pull the stem out to set the hands, rotate the hands to set proper date and time.
