I have vonage telephone hooked up to my pc.how do i install my wrt54g router, what wires go where?

Who is your ISP. I think your modem is connected to the Vonage and Vonage is connected to the computer. If that is the connection then you can disconnect the computer from the vonage and connect the router there. From the vonage connect to the internet port of the router. then connect your computer to the router. Check if that works. If you are connecting the router to the modem, then you will need to set up the router as per the modem set up or type of ISP. Click Here for step by step solutions

Setup router with vonage device and dsl modem

For the best call quality, I suggest you connect the Vonage router to the DSL modem, and if necessary, connect the Linksys router behind that. Why are you using a second router, though - you probably just need a switch or hub, if you're trying to connect more machines. Small networks rarely require more than one router. MaverickSolutions.biz may be able to provide additional support if you can give us more details about your installation.

How to connect Wireless router to Cabel Modem and Vonage Modem?

First of all: it would be good to know which devices you are using. This would help to be more specific.

But anyways:
  1. Connect a normal Ethernet cable from your DSL or Cable modem to the Internet (or WAN) port of your vonage router.
  2. Then connect another Ethernet cable from one of theLAN ports of the vonage device to the Internet (or WAN) port of your Linksys (The one that is separated from the 4 LAN ports.)
  3. Make sure that the Linksys is set to DHCP (Dynamic IP Address), soit can get it's IP address from the vonage router! (Look at your manual. If you don't have one, you can get it here. Choose the right version number - you can find that on a sticker at the bottom of the router - and download the user guide)
  4. Connect your computer to one of the LAN ports on the Linksys.
If you have any more questions or this desciption is not clear to you, just come back here and leave a comment - I'm happy to help.
