I can hear chat but i cant talk to people

I can hear people talking but i cant talk to them. i tried plugging it back in. pulling my mic out and everything. i own a Turtle beach x41 headset.

SOURCE: my 360 xbox headset work on my account but it does on my brothers

well i ent promising anything .. but what you want to try is going on your account which the headset dont work . then go on to your settings and look at your family settings and see what the stauts maybe you can only talk to friends ohh it could be that on your guide but if you go to preferences ... then go to voice and see if you have muted it ... well my gamer tag is Decidedcriminal .... and i will see what i can do ... I hope this helps ..

your headset lasted 3 months. dang thats amazing. the life span of a headset it a week.kidding.if u buy ur headset at bestbuy and it breaks u can take it back and get a new one for free because bestbuy is close with microsoft

Since it is Bluetooth, you have to pair the Bluetooth to your host computer or device. Find the correct window or screen and put it into discover mode, do the same with the headset. RTFM

I can hear everyone talk to me but i cant transmit to them,they can hear me key up but no voice to them.i have checked all connections and grounds,still the same.

Mic may have audio wire broken in cord at mic plug wire solder connection.

Turn up your RF gain. If that isn't the issue, then the mic may be damaged. Try a new mic.

If you have an X1 headset...
Try using the X1 headset and mic with your PC (sound card). Green plug goes to green jack, Pink plug goes to pink jack. Can you hear your voice thru the X1 mic on your PC? If yes, then the mic works but the chat-controller cable is probably broken and should be replaced. If no, then the mic may be broken and you should contact Turtle Beach's tech support for help -- [email protected].

If your X3's microphone is working, you should be able to hear yourself in the headset when you talk into it. Plug the chat-controller cable in both the headset and the controller, then talk into the X31 mic. Can you hear yourself in the headset? If yes, then the microphone is OK but you probably need a new chat-controller cable. If not, then the microphone may be broken and you should contact Turtle Beach tech support at [email protected].

Can you try using the X1 mic on your PC? Green plug to green jack, pink plug to pink jack, USB plug to USB port. Talk into the X1 mic. Can you hear your voice? If yes, then you probably have a bad chat-controller cable. If no, then your X1 mic may not be working. If that's the problem, you should contact Turtle Beach tech support for help. You probably kinked your controller cable. That will cause the mic to malfunction. You should purchase a new controller cable on TurtleBeach's website. They are only $4.95.http://www.turtlebeach.com/products/efx1a/replacementparts.aspx
Also make sure you have the Xbox Live settings on "Play through headset"

Hi - In the past two weeks, my microphone when I chat keeps cutting out - it doesn't matter if I am using a usb mic or one that plugs into the audio/mic outputs. I start to talk and then the voice cuts...

Replace mic for about £20. It could just be a problem with broadcasting connection! Happened to me when had bad internet on skype.

A few reasons for not being able to talk through the mic is that if parental settings are set. Parental settings can stop you from talking and, if set right, can stop you from hearing other people, which isn't the problem. It could also be that the mic on the headset is broken. If it is, you will have to buy a new one. Try using someone else's headset. If theirs works, then it confirms that it is only your headset. If it doesn't, it might mean that either your Xbox 360 remote isn't working right for voice, or parental settings are restricting you from that action.
