I had same problem once, Ipod use a different format. The best way would be to use this problem to convert it and then put the movie on the ipod. This program is completely free. I've used this program for more then 5 years.

If it says ''DO NOT DISCONNECT" that means its working well, that's not a problem don't be scared. But if its not transferring movies, be sure you are using a compatible i tunes player because thats the only player that supports ipod. Lastly make sure your videos are in mp4 format because I sure know that ipod supports mp4 videos. I have done it several times and it worked. Hope that puts a smile on your face.
You need a third party software to convert the video to the format which support by iPod. Here I find a Video Conversion Software which could convert between all popular Video formats ( AVI, MKV, MP4, WMV, FLV, MPEG etc.) that support all popular portable media players (such as Zune/Zune HD, iPod/iPhone and PSP) and the latest iPod Nano 5G, iPod Touch 3, iPhone 3GS/OS 3.1.
iPod supports only mp4 and h.264 video, you have to convert your video to iPod compatible video at first, then add the converted video to iTunes library, plug in your iPod to computer, sync your iPod with iTunes, done. If you need detailed info, here is a step by step guide will teach you how to put DVD and video to iPod http://www.dvdintoipod.com/rip-dvd-movie-and-convert-video-to-ipod.html You can get useful information by visiting Apple official site: http://www.apple.comContact me if you have any other question.
open up itunes and the music library tab then drag and drop your saved music into itunes the music will take a little while to load but after it does you will be able to sync it to the ipod
You just need to convert your DVD movie or video to mp4 video, and then you can drag the mp4 video into your iTunes library. Plug in your iPod to computer, iTunes will detect the iPod automatically, then click iTunes menu "File -> Sync iPod", that's all.
