Repair of Polycom conference handsets

We recently refubished our office and now all three of our Polycom conference telephones do not work - they were not stored properly and seemed to have suffered some damage.

One has no dial tone,
One is very noisy when you press for a dial tone
One was plugged into an incorrect power supply and is now totally dead.

Can I get these repaired or at least sent off for an evaluation before purchasing new units. They are all just over 2 years old.

We are based in London.

I can not get a dial tone on our new soundstation 2W I have unhooked one of our phone lines in our office so the line is good but does not work on the soundstation but works on our phone. When you try...

You need to update the software on the device. I called their support line and the tech explained everything. This has been a common problem with this conference phone.

How do i conferance call on a polycom voicestation 300

The conference call feature is not part of the phone, but part of your telephone network. In some systems you press a sequence of keys to conference in another member such as flash #02 but it depends on what telephone network you use. Contact your IT admin and ask how to trigger the feature on that analog line.

How do I conference call on a Polycom Voicestation 400?

Conference call is not a feature of the phone, but a feature of the telephone system in the company. Usually you press a sequence of keys like flash #02 to trigger this function in the phone system. If your company phone system does not offer the feature then you have to use an external conference call provider.

Conference call with a Polycom SoundStation EX

The conferencing capability to bridge 2 (or more) external stations comes from the telephone equipment/service that you have purchased. Either you are behind a PABX or Electronic KSU, which provides multiple phone service to your office, or you purchase conferencing capability from your local telephone provider (Verizon, AT&T, etc). In either case, the way to initiate a conference call would be the same as when you would have a desktop/office phone and establish a conference/bridged call to external parties. Usually this occurs by having one party on the line, flashing the disconnect button momentarily, getting a new dial tone, dialing and connecting to a second party, then flashing the disconnect button again, which signals the equipment to bridge those two calls to your station.  On the SoundStation EX there is a Flash button that provides that capability of momentarily flashing the disconnect button.  Try and see if that works. If not, then you will need to make arrangements to purchase the external equipment or service from your provider.  If you have the PABX or electronic KSU, it may also be a configuration option that you will need to have your support person for your telephone system, activate for that station connected to the SoundStation EX. Hope that helps.

LCD Display keeps flashing "INITIALIZING"

It needs to be plugged into a properly configured Avaya Definity digital port / wall jack. (NOT a regular telephone line as this can damage the polycom!!!) Does another Avaya digital phone work in that jack? If it does then call polycom for a RMA and eturn the phone under warrenty. If another Avaya digital phone does also does not work you need to check the PBX configuration or there is a wiring error at the jack or the PBX.

No power

During moving the power connector which looks like a big telephone plug or a data plug may have been wrenched loose, from the internal connector, inside the plastic plug. Use the power plug from the other phone to test. There is no battery in the phone to charge. If changing the power adapter and plug fixes the problem have you telephone company check the connector or go to radio shack and buy a plug and a cheap tool to replace the plug.
