I have just purchased a ge slimline , desk or wall mountable phone and am having a problem in locating the handset hook that has to be reversed in order to mount the phone on the WALL. Under wall mount installation the instructions say Push the handset hook up with your thumb, turn it over and replace it on the base. Please advise where I might find the handset hook !!

Often there is a handset catch near the top of the cradle that must be reversed to allow the handset to hang in the cradle when installed as a wallphone. Typically the phone is initially setup as a desk phone, if this catch piece was reversed it would interfere with lifting the handset. Some models have a screw holding this piece in place, some just slide into cradle.
Under where the headpiece hooks on, there is a very small white piece of plastic about 3mmby4mm and it slides out if you pull it up and if you turn it upside down and slide it in a plastic piece sticks out and the phone will hook on to it. It is dezined to be both desk and wall mountable. Email me Chris at [email protected] if you have any more questions.

I contacted GE today and they told me how to get the caller ID to work on the additional handsets. You must follow these steps in the exact order given.
#1 - unplug the base phone
#2 - unplug the telephone line from the base phone
#3 - remove the battery packs from the phones
#4 - wait 10 minutes.
reverse the order when assembling. Put battery packs in phones, put the telephone line back in the base phone and lastly plug all phones back in. It takes about another 10 minutes after that before all phones start recognizing caller ID but it now works fine.
