Element TV not connecting to blu-ray player

I bought a Samsung blu-ray player today (Model #BD-E5400). When I connected it to my Element tv (Model #ELCP0371) it shows the Samsung logo and then the tv goes to a blue screen and says Not Support. Can anyone tell me what this means? I called Samsung twice and got different answers both times.

SOURCE: My HDMI connection does not work with Blu Ray DVD

After reading your post a couple of times, it just seems your are in a little of a pickle here. The only thing I can suggest, since your tv will work with fios and not the your BD player(I assuming your using the same port on the tv with the same hdmi cable), is all about firmware. Maybe your tv is not compatible with the the BD player. Try updating the firmware on the tv.

SOURCE: I have just about given

Hi,
Please exchange HDMI cable, use any other HDMI cable in BluRay and TV and I would recommend to plug cable in another HDMI port in tv (if available) to solve this issue.
Make sure HDMI cable connector is plugged fully in both units, lose connection can cause No Signal display in tv any time.
Hope these info will help you.
Thanks.

This might seem a little out there but you have hit the source button and scrolled down to the correct HDMI input for the device? Also if you dont see the correct input when you hit the source button then in the settings you might have that particular HDMI connection turned off.

That does ring some bells. Does the tv ever do this when you are watching anything else on the HDMI input or any other inputs, apart from the DVD player as the input source?

How does one stream netflix via Blu Ray wired to ISP through a tv?

First you have to hook up network cable to Blue Ray player and to router
Next update software in Blue Ray player by going thru your menu in blue ray player to settings
If you have your blue ray player with Netflix app then all
you do is click on app and log in.
And make sure HDMI cable is plugged into TV.
And that should work for you. Any problems write me back.

How do I connect my Samsung BD-E5400 blu ray player to tv and watch netflix with a wired internet connection?

From the modem to the blu-ray use an ETHERNET cable. From the blu-ray to TV use an HDMI cable. They only fit in the right terminals.

Try different security types. WEP, WPA2-PSK . Setup the device, you didn't post the Make, Model of device, to WPA2-PSK if you need to update the firmware go to the manufacturer's website and install the latest firmware version. Just received a Samsung BR BD-P1500 2009 model, as a gift. No one code for the remote control work for my Panasonic Viera TC-L37D2 bought in 2010. Samsung "assistance" told me that my BR is too...

Unfortunately, Samsung tech support was accurate. Most universal remotes (and the portion of the remote programming to control other devices is the same program) only have codes for devices released 6 months or more before the remote was programmed.

However, any universal remote that is newer than the TV (by that 6 month programming period) should control both devices. Low end universal remotes may not support all of the features of either the TV or the Blu-ray player. The remotes that can be programmed via a USB connection to a computer are the fastest to set up. (Alternatives: You can use both remotes when watching a movie or get a Viera link Blu-ray player that is compatible with the TV. For the second option, you need a device with the HDAVI Control (not above Control 5) connected via a good HDMI cable)

I wish that I had better news.

Trying to connect a new Samsung Bd-C5500 to my old Sony tv. Can't even get the set-up screen to come up on the TV. All we have is a TV, a Cable box and this new Samsung. We bought it because it is...

That depends on the connections your Sony TV has. If it has only the coaxial connector (the cable looks like this: http://www.w-l-t.org/Pix/Coax%20w-F%20connector.jpg), then you'll connect a VCR to that, and then the blu-ray player to the connections on the VCR using the composite cables (yellow, red, white). Switch the VCR to channel "L" or "Line" (usually below channel 2), and it should pass the video through to the television. Of course, if the TV itself has the yellow, white, and red connectors, you should just be able to connect the Blu-ray directly into that.
Also, it may be possible to connect your cable box as an intermediary like I just described with the VCR, depending on your model of cable box.

No picture from Blu-ray

If the TV works fine with other sources the problem is the HDMI output is not enabled on the BD player.
Most BD players do not output both HDMI and composite formats simultaneously. Check to make sure the HDMI output is selected on the BD player and the TV. This information is in the manuals, read the book.

Cheers
