I just got my fridge. I let it set upright 24 hours like it said in the booklet. But when I plugged it in it immediately started a loud rumbling noise. I unplugged it, waited a few minutes, and plugged it back in. It just clicked on and off a few times and then about three minutes later started rumbling again. I unplugged it and called the help line. The woman said to call back when a technition will be there but that will be a while. So I was wondering if this is a normal sound.
Rumbling sound is not good. Check to see if it is making the noise with the door open. If so - it probably is a fan blade scraping. If it keeps making the noise - it is likely the compressor - either a faulty relay or capacitor. Or maybe the compressor is faulty. You'll need to be handy with a multimeter to check these out though.

Check the thermostat. make sure it is turned on. The thermostat can shut it off. Also check to see if you have power to that outlet you are using. If none of that is the problem you can try and bypass the thermostat with a jumper wire( If you are comfortable with do this) Be careful when doing this cause electric shock is possible. don't touch any wires directly
SOURCE: When plugged in, the compressor never kicks on. It just clicks.
If the compressor is getting hot then the compressor is gone. But the price on a relay is fairly cheap so you can at least try it and if it doesnt work then return it and dump the unit. But like I said before when a compressor gets hot it means that the piston is bad and the rings are burnt and the oil is bad in the compressor.

Your PTC relay on the compressor is bad needs to be replaced.
First be sure to unplug cooler. Remove the cardboard cover that covers
most backs of the units. Remove the plastic cover that is on the
side of compressor. It is held on with a metal clip. Now you should be
able to see the relay pry the relay straight off. note the wiring and
position of relay. Only three prongs on compressor. Go to a parts house
for appliance's and with your make and model number should be able to
get a new one. Let me know if you need any more help. ken
