Fairly common issue. Motor control module is shot.
You can get them from your local parts shop, or ebay.
Sometimes they are direct swap by the big plug, sometimes there is slight rewiring required (wiring diagram comes in kit and they are just spade connectors on to the timer, no splicing or anything).

If you take the top panel off and it does not have a module exactly like in the pic on ebay, make sure you are happy to do the wiring bit before buying (easy if you can read a simple wiring diagram)

Hi just read read your posting.Is your machine the Simpson Ezi set? If it is and the water keeps running does it at any stage while it is filling start to agitate? Or does the machine keep filling and does not start agitating?Please reply with additional information and I can help you rectify this fault. Looking forward to your reply.

If your referring to pushing the the timer up and down and sometimes it will work then yes, the timers contacts are worn and you will need a new timer.

Hi just read your posting.Depending on how old your machine is it could be a couple of reasons.1st thing I need to know is how old your machine is? Also when the machine should turn the opposite direction listen carefully and do you hear a hum from the motor when it should be turning in the opposite direction?Please reply with this additional information and I am sure I can help you .Looking forward to your reply.

Maybe the agitator isnt agitated enough.....yell at it for a bit...see what happens....if it that dont make it spin poor a lil rum in the tub....

Our machine , same model, was doing the same. Had a repairman cone out & it was the Motor Control unit, seems to be a fairly common problem. But now its fixed & working well.
