The only think I have not done is count the number of flashs. The heater is stays on for about 2 days and then goes off. When this first began I could turn the heater off and start it right a way. Now at times it will take 1 hr or more before it will start. I think something is over heating an it turnes itself off as a safety. I hope you are able to help me ?
Look and see if the part that stubs out the wick upon turning it off is stuck up or not dis engaging properly. if stuck up the over heating would shut it down!.

First thing to do is clean the flame rod. Take the black grill off of the front of the heater (6 ro 7 screws). Now locate the flame rod. It is beside the window where you can look into the burner. It has one wire going to it. Be careful so you don't damage the gasket. The rod goes in then straight down, so you will have to turn it to get it out. You can clean it with some steelwool or emory cloth. Reinstall it and try the heater.
Listen to the heater. If it cuts off, does the fuel pump start making a thumping before the heater cuts off? If it does, the heater is running out of fuel for some reason. I know you checked the filter, but did you check the strainer in the fuel sump. You can find it on the right side of the heater at the bottom. Make sure you turn off the fuel at the barrel before you remove it and have some rags ready to soak up the kerosene that will come out. Clean the filter with some kerosene if it needs it.

Not sure exactly what is meant by half way it shuts off. My furnance wouldn't heat to 68 degrees from a setting of 63 degrees on the setback thermostat without shutting down several times with a single flashing led. It would reset after an hour or so until it finally reached the 68 degrees. The problem turned out to be the tube that drains the water from the blower assembly. It had a belly in the middle which would cause the water to sit and block the airflow sensor for the gas value. Lifted tube to allow proper drainage to correct.

I had the same problem and the flame rod was really crusty. cleaned and put it back and it seems to be working fine now. However, there was no saving the gasket. it disintegrated. Is it really necessary?
