I purchased Norton Anti Virus and downloaded on computer #1 on1-1-13 and was downloading on computer #2 on 1-2-13 and had the following error 8506,421. I had to close down and do other things and am back today to finish. Where do I start. My account: [email protected] password Howard

Most likekly, this is a problem with the Norton installation itself, and Norton needs to be removed and reinstalled using NRE (the Norton Removal Tool) which gets every trace of Norton products off of your machine. There is a detailed explanation and process at the link below and it is direct from the Symantec (Norton) support pages. The NRE tool is also known as NRnR (Remove and Replace) and I've used it many times (I'm an IT admin at a school) and it normally works very well. Norton 360 has the entire norton protection suite built into it. On top of the firewall, phishing protection, and e-mail protection it also has norton antivirus built right into it. So yes, you have to uninstall antivirus to install 360, but 360 just installs antivirus again. If you ever decide to go back to using just antivirus you can simply redownload it off their web site. firstly, edit your question above and remove your product key, as this could cause you trouble down the road more and people see it, copy it down and then stasrt using copies of this program for free using your product key. Secondly, Norton support will be able send you the file again so that you can complete the process.

If you have access to another computer download avast anti-virus and malwarebytes anti-malware and burn to cd or use a flash drive. Malwarebytes will remove that PC Defender rouge anti-virus software and any other malware you may have,
If you don't have another computer you can download the files to try booting into safe mode with networking. This option should allow you to download and install the programs above,
If your able to download them run anti-malware first. Let t fix what it can. Then install avast anti-virus, when asked if you want to schedule a boot time scan say yes, then when asked to reboot say no and open avast and update it, When prompted to reboot do so.

Sorry for the trouble. This error can be fixed by restarting the computer. If the problem persists even after you restart the computer, you need to uninstall and reinstall your Norton product. Please follow the steps here:https://support.norton.com/sp/en/in/home...
