We do not use night ring - actually not sure what that is. We did change out a phone that was damaged by water. That is the phone that we leave off the hook opening up line 3, which I believe we do so the incoming call goes to hunt for open line. There are only 2 other lines used on the system. Now we are coming in and some mornings it is fine, but others we have to reset. We are wondering if it has something to do with the battery backup. We do not use night ring - actually not sure what that is. We did change out a phone that was damaged by water. If your Viper 5706V car alarm and remote start system is displaying error messages and not functioning properly, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:
Check the Display: Look closely at the error messages displayed on the remote control or alarm system. These messages can provide valuable information about what might be causing the problem.
Check the Wiring: Make sure all the wiring connections are secure and properly connected. Loose or damaged wires can cause communication errors and prevent the system from functioning correctly.
Check the Battery: Ensure that the battery in both the remote control and the vehicle is fully charged. Weak batteries can lead to communication problems and errors.
Reset the System: Try resetting the Viper system by disconnecting the vehicle's battery for a few minutes and then reconnecting it. This can sometimes clear any temporary glitches in the system.
Check Antenna Placement: The antenna for the remote start system should be placed in a location that allows for clear communication between the remote control and the vehicle. Check if the antenna is properly positioned and not obstructed.
Review the Manual: Refer to the user manual that came with your Viper 5706V system. It may contain troubleshooting steps and error code explanations specific to your model.
Seek Professional Help: If you're unable to resolve the issue on your own, consider seeking assistance from a professional car alarm installer or a Viper authorized dealer. They have the expertise and tools to diagnose and fix complex issues.
Update the Firmware: If the system's firmware can be updated, consider updating it to the latest version. New firmware releases often include bug fixes and improvements that could address the error messages you're encountering.
Remote Control Programming: Sometimes, error messages can be due to issues with remote control programming. Follow the instructions in the manual to reprogram the remote control to the system.
Check Sensor Connections: If your Viper system includes additional sensors or accessories (such as door sensors or motion detectors), ensure that they are properly connected and functioning.
Remember that troubleshooting complex car alarm and remote start systems might require specialized knowledge and tools. If you're not comfortable with the troubleshooting steps or if the issue persists, it's recommended to consult with a professional who is experienced in car alarm and remote start installations.
The only one you can reset is the "time for regular service" message.
To reset this, turn ignition off, hold the trip reset button down and turn key to position II. Keep holding the trip reset until you hear a ping noise and the orange triangle flashes. Immediately release the trip reset and turn the ignition off. When you start the car next, the message will be gone.
Other messages like "SRS Service required" or "Alarm system service required" can only be rest with a OBD code reader.
An "alarm Memory" indicates that a zone was activated the last time the system was armed. To view what zone caused the problem press the * key (star) + the 3 key. To reset the memory simply arm the system and disarm. Hope this helps.
This problem may occur if the user allows the batteries to discharge to a state where the MobilePro must shut itself down. This state may cause the system storage memory to become unstable requiring a "hard" reset after the system has been fully charged again. Failure to perform the hard reset may result in data loss at a later time. The user manual states that if you receive a message indicating that the batteries are low, immediately connect the AC adapter to the device.
The solution is to perform a "hard" reset after fully charging the internal batteries, and then install the service packs, software updates and user software.
