My Miele Novotronic W806 Premier front load washing machine will not stop heating

Hi there are 3 possible causes.
1. Out of balance load (drum is divide into 3 sections if weight i one section is greater then 1.25kg than another section will not spin)
2.Carbon brushes ( Normally good for at least 10 years)
3. Vent from drain pump blocked.(Vent left front side of soap drawer. Visible when drawer removed)

The I is the pre-wash and the III is the main wash where you put the soap powder. the # star looking symbol is the fabric conditioner.

Main wash light flashing is a heating fault. You either have a faulty temp sensor (NTC) or the pressure chamber has blocked and the heater element has popped.

Main wash is a fault indicator. The is a problem within the heater circuit, NTC, element, relay or loose wire. You will have to open front and check.
Remove 3 screw around dispenser and 3 10mm bolt around door. disconnect hose by drain pump and front of machine will open like a door.

Hello Ellen, welcome to fixya. I would begin by removing the rear panel and checking the belt and insure the basket pulley isn't loose as well. If the belt is in tack ( not broke ) but has come off that sometimes is caused by a loose or bent pulley, hence the suggestion to check the pulley. If the belt is broke, it may simply be a matter of normal "wear & tear" and just time to replace it. Hope that helps point you in the right direction.
