DVD/CD Drive not found after Upgrade to Win 8 Professional

As far as i know thats impossible. Your optical diskdrive is made just for those speeds that you have on it. You cant change the manufacture settings and speed it upp, or make it to an dual layer disk.
Buy a new one whit the needs that u want and replace the old one. Its easy done and its not that expensive.

If you tried a firmware updateon the drive, and it failed and the drive no longer functions, then it is time to buy a replacement. Drives are generally available on Ebay for $25 to $50

Kindly uninsall the audio drivers installes on your computer and try this driver, this is the driver found in acer site.

Please click on the below link and select audio driver on that displayed list,

then you need to download it anr run. If it is asking you to quit or continue, then you need to select "Continue any way".

Restart your system and check.
