Comfort zone heater won't turn on

Heater suddenly won't come on at all. No lights on control panel or anything. If bumped or hit on side then control panel lights and beeps for fraction of second as if there is loose wire. Cannot remove innards from wood case since its wired to control panel which is glued to front of case.

Regarding suggestion to press two buttons on right to reset - there is no power. Will not reset. Regarding comment about burnt wires - I opened unit and nothing is burned of visibly broken but agree symptom sounds like loose wire because unit flickers on for an instant if hit on side

SOURCE: Quit working

Based on the limited info.I have, it sounds like the heating element is not getting power. suggest visually inspecting the switch and thermostat for burnt wires. Also check the heating element for broken electrode.

In the Comfort Zone CZ7007 is there a repaceable fuse & if so is it located above the thermostat inside the control panel cover and where can I find another. No heat from unit or lights in switch but

I''m replying almost a year later, but this may help others who are having this problem. There seem to be a lot of problems with the tip over switch in the Comfort Zone radiator heaters (this is the switch at the very top, inside the panel, above the thermostat). I had the same problem- no heat, switches weren't lighting up. I bypassed the tip over switch (we have never tipped over one of our radiator heaters, so it's not an issue) and connected the switch wires with a wire nut and then further secured the wire nut with electrical tape. Now the heater works as it should again.

My comfort zone heater is cz499r with remote, I posted a comment earlier about my heater smoking and not turning on, my return date ended jan. 15 is there anything i can do? I got the heater from big lots!

What you have is a very dangerous situation. It may not be a newness smell. It may be the plastic melting. Many of the Comfort Zone heaters were recalled in December 2010. Search Google for Comfort Zone Heater Recall to see if your specific model was included

Big Lots has some great pricing and deals, but some of their electric appliances are Factory Refurbished Units. If that is the case, it is required that the box it came in must indicate that.

I turn the heater....it displays A04..and then it shuts off.

Comfort Zone heaters do not have a display board, they only had thermostat knobs.

Is it possible that you have a different model of heater?

Cz 446 comfort zone ceramic heater shuts off

Hi, the problem you are having is the thermostat control, and dimming the lights is a indication of the neutral side of the control if faulty. It is drawing enough amps to make you're home lights blink, so I would stop using it now and if you are inclined to replace this control yourself I would. If this is something you would not care to take on, I would get an estimate for repair at a appliance repair store, compared to replacing the unit with a different one.I am sorry to tell you this, but it will only get worse and what I have recommend is for you're safety.
Sincerely,
Shastalaker7
PS Please keep me informed of the situation, as I would love to be of any help you may need.
