Battery stuck on Pride mobility scooter

The first time I have tried to remove the battery pack after ridding the new scooter, I cannot get it off.

  • Anonymous Jan 04, 2013

This is a Pride Go Go Elite Traveler 3 wheel with the 12 Battery pack. It will not lift off after the first use. It feels locked down in front.

Hi. There are no locking devices on the GoGo Elite Traveller series of scooter. The Battery pack simply lifts off. However, they can be very tight and sometimes require a sharp tug upwards to remove them.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, that helps. I didn't want to break anything!

No you will not break anything , When first used they tend to Stick this will sort it self out with use , Better Tight Fit than Loose. Gerry.

Hello Bruce,if you contact a local dealer for your scooter.Ask them to download you an owners manual, there will more than likely be a small fee for this.Alternatively visit the Products website & ask the same question, this may be a better option as there may be no fee. They could send you 1 in the post.I hope this has helped you,Colin.

SOURCE: battery won't charge, how do i take battery out of

Remove the seat by depressing a lever on the right side of the chair and pulling upward. there is a boot that covers the shaft of the seat rest. remove the boot and check for a pin with a ring on it. Once this is gone remove the shroud and you will find the batteries. Remove them with care and do a cursory check of all connectors. Some units have a 30 amp fuse on series with the batteries. Make sure the fuses aren't causing your trouble. Be certain to replace the batteries with the right polarity (positive to positive, etc...) Hope this helps.

Want to see why my batteries wont charge. Product is new !

Is the charger getting power? Is the power reaching the battery pack to charge them? If you answer yes to both questions then something has to be wrong with the battery pack.

I got my battery pack off my Gogo Traveller Elite scooter. But the batteries are encased in plastic and I don't see a way to get them out. Help?

Turn the battery pack up side down and you will see holes around the outside of the case. With a long (12") Philips screw driver, remove 8-10 screws. carefully turn the pack back on it feet and the lid will come off. Be careful with the wires inside the battery pack and make a note of where they go.

My Mother has a Pride Sundancer 3 Wheel Electric Scooter and it has stopped working. We put new batteries in it and it still doesn't run. My husband played around a little with it and it started. Mom drove...

dcreek do you have power to the console? Are you getting any error code flashes on the console? If it just loses power and cuts completly off check your connections on the batteries ie are the cables tight on the post or tabs. Also check the circuit breaker and the fuse on the battery pack. Make sure that the battery pack is well seated in its place on the scooter. You might try removing the battery pack and look closely at the contacts under the battery pack and on the scooter frame make sure none of them (contacts) are bent or crooked and that they are clean. I have a troubleshooting guide I can send you via e-mail if you will e-mail me @ [email protected]

Hope this helps

My father-in-laws gogo will be not used for several months while he's in florida. how should the battery be stored/charged while not in use?

Charge the batteries fully and remove the battery pack from the scooter. About once a month charge the battery pack. It shouldn't take long to charge since you are not using the scooter Don't overcharge when the light on the charger turns green turn it off and unplug it from the battery pack. This should keep the batteries fully charged and fresh when FIL gets back home. Hope this helps you

I have a pride go go elite traveller 4 and need some new batteries, but what batteries and connection am i looking for?

Rachel you need 2 12/12AH batteries that are located in the battery pack under the seat. Simply pull the battery pack from the scooter and with a standard phillips screwdriver remove the many screws attaching the battery pack together (simply turn the pack over to get to the screws) There will be two wire on each battery and also a heat sensor attached to the side of one battery remove the wires from each battery and carefully reove the heat sensor. You can bring one of the batterys to your local battery warehouse type store or a provider and purchase 2 new ones reinstall like you removed attaching red wire to red terminals and black to black terminals and reattach the heat sensor to the side of one battery (you can use packaging tape to reattach). replace all the screws to put the case back together and reinstall in your scooter. Charge the batteries with you charger until the charge light is green then happy riding HOPE THIS HELPS

Battery won't hold a charge - go-go elite travellor scooter battery charged overnight but won't hold charge.

We have had problems with scooter batteries from time to time and the repair man said to take apart the battery case and disconnect the batteries and use a car charger. I put the two battery in parallel and used a amp battery charger. This worked fine.
Don't run your scooter batteries all the way down when using the Go Go as the scooter charger won't always bring them up to full charge and you may have repeat this. Also running the batteries all the way down shortens there life.

Where and how do I replace my battery for my pride gogo ultra travel scooter

Do not use batteries with different amp-hour (Ah) capacities. Do not mix old and new batteries. Always replace both batteries at the same time.

MANDATORY!
Battery posts, terminals, and related accessories contain lead and lead compounds. Wear goggles and gloves when handling batteries and wash hands after handling.

WARNING! Always use two batteries of the exact same type, chemistry, and amp-hour (Ah) capacity. Use 12 Volt deep cycle batteries.

1.Remove the battery pack from the Travel Scooter.

2.Carefully turn the pack upside down.
3.Remove the eight (8) screws from the perimeter of the battery pack.
4.Carefully turn the pack right side up and remove the lid.

5.Disconnect the black (-) and red (+) battery cables from the battery terminals.
6.Remove the old battery.
7.Place a new battery in the battery pack.
8.Connect the red battery cable to the positive (+) battery terminal.
9.Connect the black battery cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
10.Position the lid back onto the battery pack ensuring all wires are inside the pack so they don’t become pinched.
11.Carefully turn the pack upside down.
12.Reinstall all screws and tighten.
13.Charge the new batteries for 8-14 hrs before the first use.
I hope this helps and good luck!
