Will it also work when i use my ps3 and will the dvd player on the technics work through my tv
I am trying to do same thing - i suggest connect ps3 via optical cable to hi fi red/ white cables via a optical/ rca adaptor, the ps3 is connected to tv via hdmi so play dvd via ps3 sound will play through hi fi - but remember dont need the yellow dvd cable from hifi dvd player to tv any more as you will be using the ps3 as a dvd player instead

U could try insert a disk, as soon as the message comes on, immediately press stop, it will go to chapter review n hopefully start playing the region 1 dvd in 5 sec n u cn enjoy ur movies. Hope it helps.

another solution to connect tv / ps3 to hi fi - take the av cable from ps1 or 2 connect to the av out of the ps3 - put the red and white into the aux port on rear of amp then as ps3 connected to tv through hdmi cable - go to ps3 audio settings on screen and choose av cable and save then all dvds and games sound is throught the speakers of the hi fi not tv - remember to switch the amp to aux out
this does work as i now have option to listen to dvd either through the tv as normal or through hi fi surround system
