Black ink too heavy - Microboards PF2

I am having problems with the amount of black ink that is coming out.

When printing a disc the black is so heavy that it sits on top of the disc and take about 5 minutes to dry. The colours are fine.

I can't find any way of adjusting the black levels in the setup menu. I am using a genuine Microboards versatile black cartridge.

You can adjust the dry time. go to printer and faxes and right click select preference, there should be tabs select features then below should be advance features select that and there you can adjust the dry time and amount of ink.

Welcome to FixYa!
Solution 1. You might want to check the ink levels of your printer. One of the ink color might be out. Your printer uses the C,M,Y (one cartridge) and K (another cartridge). The printer mixes this colors (C,M,Y,K = cyan, magenta, yellow and pink) to produce the right colors including black.
Solution 2. Please do a printer head cleaning. You can do it using your printers software maintenance option.
Thank you for using FixYa.Have a great day.

Microboards PF2. Loading jams after about every 6 DVDs. Has to be freed manually and then restarted. Jams after about another 6 0r so.

We have the same problem with some brands of discs. Fan the discs before you load them and/or try another brand of DVD. We like Datasafe or Datawrite

My Microboards PF2 does not print color properly.

The next to last cartridge I installed did not print properly. It seemed like all the colors were not there so I weighed it on a postage scale and it weighed less than another new one I had. I called Microboards. They said to send it to them and they replaced it. It may not be that, but weighing it should give some indication if it is.

Sounds like you have either a defective ink cartridge, or the sensor that recognizes the cartridge is either dirty, broken or out of alignment.

Dvd feeding problem

The reason you are having trouble with DVD's and not CD's is that the DVD's are a little thicker or taller than the CD's. The area above the belt system has to be adjusted upward. this adjsutment is not in the manual, and is complicated. My company, Techware DIstribution, has had as many as 20 of the PF-1 and PF-2 printers running in our production and demo room. We can walk you through the steps to make the adjustment if you like.
