When assembeling the screen (syncmaster 743NX), the screenholder doesen't seem to want to tilt back a few degrees for easy viewing. The LCD screen is 90 degrees with the foot? Can the screen tilt back or not?

The owner of Inline Industries (he invented the PALS product that lets you get a precision alignment on a contractor saw) has a video that shows how to add grease fittings that will make blade raising, lowering and tilting very easy. Check him out. He sent me the video when I bought the PALS.
Tilting on most Monitors is designed to require some force to prevent it from slipping.
Gently yet firmly hold down the base of the monitor on the desk with one hand. Then place a second hand on the bottom of the screen and pull it towards you using even pressure. It will slowly move.
Please also keep in mind that your monitor may not be able to tilt much. If you need it to tilt further, you can buy an alternative stand for it.
Look closely at the area where the computer "folds";
there's a small sensor that should trigger when you *CLOSE* the lid -- perhaps, something is triggering that sensor (a small pin) when you're exceeding 90 degrees, putting the computer to "sleep".
You have set screws in the table top, they stop the trunnions from tilting at a certain point, just blow out the dust and get a wrench in there and turn it up or down, they stop tilt both directions.
Hello again.
The ViewSonic VG1930wm has a height adjustment range of 3.2", TILT capabilities, and a swivel range of 360 degrees.
So yes your monitor should be able to tilt back and forth. Most likely if you hold the base of the monitor, and press somewhere on the front at the top or bottom (do not press on the screen itself) then it should easily tilt back and forth. Occassionally there is a switch you may have to hold while you push on the front-top/bottom of the monitor which acts as a lock for the tilt angle.
Hope that helps, and don't forget to vote/rate!

How to troubleshoot a Samsung SyncMaster 743NX LCD
Monitor?
My Samsung SyncMaster 743NX
monitor turns on slowly. I mean, last week when I started up my pc,it
took 5-10 mins before my monitor displayed anything. I know the pc is
already turned on because I've already heard the Windows Vista start up
tune play. The problem is now getting worse as it now takes 20-30 mins
before my monitor displays anything. Please help.
I am not a monitor expert, but
from product photos, it looks like the flat panel is mounted on a weak pivot, probably a design fault. I would guess that you probably don't want to spend a lot of time on this problem, and don't wish to make it worse. If it were me, I would probably use some sticky-backed velcro on the panel and base so that the velcro would hold the panel up, and still be adjustable... if the monitor's back is against the wall, it won't be seen.
