I have a Yamaha Clavinova clp 360; it no longer turns on.
I recently transported my yamaha clavinova to my apartment. I was as careful as possible during moving, but damage may have occurred during the move, it was also laid on it's side during the drive. Once i was done moving it, I plugged it in, pressed the on button, and all of the lights came on and sound could be heard; essentially it was working just fine, so i turned it off and walked away. I came back about an hour later, pressed the on button, and the lights turned on for about 2 seconds and then it shut off. So i pressed the power button off and then back on again and the same thing happened- the lights came on and then turned off after a few seconds. After about 10 times of this happening, now no lights come on after pressing the power button. The two main fuses have been checked and look absolutely fine. I have the piano open and it does not look like any components are damaged. The on button works, so it is not as simple as that either. Please let me know if you have any ideas on what the problem could be. or if you know of any typical components that could break in a move, or the most problematic components on the piano after several years of use. Thanks!

Re: I have a Yamaha Clavinova clp 360; it no longer turns...
Paul, inside of the Clavinpva at the rear where the power cable connects to the board. there is a 124 volt 1.25 amp fuse. the old type that is a glass cylinder with silver ends. it's an easy fix and will cost about $3.00 for a pack of four. You have to9 take out all of the screws on the bottom of the piano in order for the top to slide off, but you can do it in about 15 minutes!
Thanks Vincent. My CLP-511 had a 250v/3A fuse. Had to unplug from the wall, remove the top cover (three screws in the back) and the electrical plug cover (two screws) to get to the fuse. Takes 5-10 minutes excluding the run to the neighborhood hardware store to buy the fuse ($4 for 2).Thanks Vincent. My CLP-511 had a 250v/3A fuse. Hi ... There are flexible cables that connect the keys to the main electronics. The connectors for those cables sometimes age poorly.. It is fixable. But dont "get taken" on a repair. If it's just resoldering a few points,it shouldnt be more than $100.00 to fix

There are a number of fuses on the main power board ( by transformer ) the sizes differ depending on the country of use but are clearly marked on the board.
REMEMBER TO UNPLUG FROM THE MAINS BEFORE OPENING - if in doubt seek the advice of a qualified electrician
The principal to replace your contact strip will require one further step to that shown here where the customer has replaced the felts.
When you have the keybed out you will see the contact strip part 220. This is held in place behind the circuit boards. Remove boards, replace strip and reassemble.
It might be worth considering felts whilst you have the keyboard in bits as these wear out.
If you will turn the instrument upside down you will find a date of production somewhere. My CLP-50 has been built in 1985 for example, I discovered in 2006. (I have forgotten the exact location of this date.)
The control panel hinges upwards and you have to move the keybed back a bit to get at the jack. All the screws on the bottom for the keybed. I'm not sure where the ones for the control panel are.
hi... Your L/R jacks in the back need to connect to the "line-in" connector on your sound card. I think the jacks on the Clav are 1/4 inch. Go to Radio shack and ask for an adapter that will take two 1/4 inch plugs/cable and convert it to a 1/8 inch stereo plug. The Midi connects From (keyboard) To (soundcard) Cables are available at any music store

Does the CLP-240 have the same fuse set up? Mine won't power up either.
