I thought it was the power-cable's problem - plugging loosely into the monitor. So I've changed the power cable, which didn't solve the problem If I hold the cable's plus up, to keep the connection to monitor steady and tight, the light on the monitor goes green, the sign "No power supply" shows on the dark screen, then the green light on the monitor changes to orange light.

Try booting the pc in safe mode (press f8 at startup). It may be possible that the pc is trying to send too high a resolution to the monitor...unlikely though. The symptom you describe usually indicates that the power board or the inverter board in the monitor are defective. If it does the same thing in safe mode, you have 2 options.
1. Replace the power board and inverter board (do the inverter board first.......it's the cheaper one (10-20 dollars).
2. Send the monitor back to the seller for a refund, or get a new monitor.
Sorry I couldn't give you more positive feedback. Hope this helps.

I've sold the problem for now by shutting down my computer, unplugging the power cord from the monitor. Then plugging it back, and rebooting my computer. So that tell me that the power supply might wound NOT be the problem. Many thanks to all my prompt kind helpers and advisors. Happy New Year, my new frieds! Marta
