Loud tapping noise from makita sawzall jr 3000v

When using the Makita saw JR3000V there is a loud tapping noise

  • Anonymous Jan 08, 2013

I removed the gear housing cover and found that the side wall was slightly warped where the N. bearing rotates back and forth. After some vice work and straightening the wall and reinstalling the parts everything seems to work fine Thanks for your comments which are always helpful.

SOURCE: wiring varible speed swith for a Makita JR3000V reciporcating saw

The replacement switch, is it Makita and was it a direct replacement for the original part? That could make a difference. I looked at the schematics for this tool and they do not furnish the wiring codes but I think you are on the right track. To make sure though I would call Makitas tech support people at 1-800-4625482 and have a wiring explosion sent to you. Let me know if you still need more help and I will contact them or call a local dealer that I know.

I cannot find a replacement part for my Makita mod. JR3000 recipricating saw. I need a handle.

Call Makita at 1-800-462-5482 they will sell direct. Sawzall is a Milwaukee trade name so when you call say reciprocating saw. You'll also need the serial number or date code because Makita has several revisions to that tool.

How do i replace the gears on a makita reciprocating saw

Expensive job. You have to replace the armature and the gear which retails around 110 pound alone you would be better buying a new one unfortunately.

Makita JR3000V stopped working

I would have checked the cord first. Cords are a high failure part because they always get bent and pulled and such. Some versions of the jr3000v had problems with field wires breaking right at the field terminal.

Blade too thick got stuck

lock the blade in a vise or grip it tightly and with the clamp open TAP on the shoe to pull the saw away from the blade. Use gloves and unplug the tool before attempting.
