My wife decided that she wanted to rearrage two of our rooms and move the TV from the sitting room off of the kitchen to the formal living room. When I hook up the TV to the outlet in the living room it doesn't work. DishNetwork Tech Support says they are going to charge me $100 to come out and make that outlet work. Is there something I can do with the existing connections to reroute the signal from one room outlet to the next?
I f you have cable at the new location follow it back to a splitter. Remove the one you used to use and screw in the one you want to use. They should all terminate at the same location.
As a last resort you might want to what I call 'Ring out the line'. Take a nine volt battery and connect to one end the center and the side of the cable and goto the other end with a 12v bulb and touch the center of the bulb to the center wire and the base of the bulb to the screw cap (threaded part). If it lights up that will identify the cable you are looking for.

thanks for offering a solution...I am sure that works, but I have no idea how to determine which feed is which. I think the splitter is outside and I have unhooked and rehooked to several different configurations to no avail. I may just change to DirecTV and get a 12 month promo price and have them hook up the correct outlet when they come out.
