Tv wont turn on

Green light turns on at the on/off switch then a noise starts about 10 seconds later, like it is trying to power something on. After about 1 minute then it switches off and the red standby button lights up with a red led light under the on/off button flashing.

I have no clue who makes your TV or the model so I can't really help you. Count how many times it flashes and start googling for the answer. Include all the info you can next time.

SOURCE: flashing red light

I think this sounds like my problem (need to replace the projector lamp). However, when I hit the "on" button, my SXRD 50" blinks green for about a minute then starts blinking red. Can you confirm the bulb solution? I was very pleased with this sight when my fan malfunctioned. I got the fan in a matter of day's from Sony and it fixed that problem.

From what I've been able to find, the problem is the fan that cools the bulb is not starting when you turn the tv on. Blow on it to get it going or clean with compressed air. The fan could be clogged up with lint etc. It's on the rear left of the tv.

NOT A GOOD IDEA AT ALL!

You likely now have one of two things happening:

1. Green power light constantly blinks and will not stop(should blink for 70 seconds and go out).

2. Green power light comes on and a few seconds later goes off.

Which do you have?

The main power supply is failing or it is shutting down because of a fault on the output side of it and it is trying to protect itself from overload which can cause a fire. Contact Zenith customer service and describe the problem, particularly the flashing LED which may be giving you an error code.

TV turns on, then turns itself off about 2 seconds later.

set has a self diagnostic---after set does shut down press and hold MENU AND DEVICE(INPUT) buttons on front of set for 5 seconds----if 2 blinks, a pause and 2 more blinks: this is short protection error code---The set does use 2 Stk394-250 and each is protected by a pico fuse in the power supply---if either fuse is blown the set will shut down(it detects no voltage or missing voltage;) It is not uncommon for a shorted IC to cause this problem; if you locate the STK's look carefully at the resistors around them---if any are discolored or burnt---you have found your problem.

TV screen turned on for only 10-15 secs then self turn off, followed soon after by the tv power another 10-15 seconds later. if i try this a few times screen wont light up at all.Is it the TV Lamp?

1) Can be dust do a good clean
2)Check for the fuse and change it if needed.
3) Capacitor needs to be changed, you'll have to findout which one.

I have two RCA HD52W59 TV's. I have had one for 3 years and one 4 years. The one I have had for 4 years is giving me the problem. Last week the tv turned off while watching it. It wouldnt come right back on. 10 minutes later we tried and it worked fine. the other night the kids were watching and it turned off and smelled like something burning. I tried turning it right back on and got no power at all. I tried to turn it on two days later and it made a buzzing noise and the green light went out. Never did get a picture, no powering up on the screen. Any ideas? Don't want to spend alot of money. Really loved the TV hope it isnt junk now. Better yet I hope the same thing doesnt happen to the other one I have.

Read this very carefully. Turn off your ps3 from the back. Then turn it back on wait unit the light is red. Turn on the system through the front keep holding the power on. You will hear a beep one time that just tell you that the ps3 is powering on keep holding the button until you hear the second beep this will rest your video setting. Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on the set, and get the regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device and Menu buttons together for about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.
