Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA) said blu-ray Discs with capacity up to C will not be compatible with existing blu-ray players. Although manufacturers such as Sharp and TDK have developed 100-gigabyte blu-ray discs, these large-capacity discs are impractical at this stage because existing Blu-ray players cannot handle discs larger than 50GB.

Why don't you play blu-ray on PC. It's quite easy and what you should do is to read disc with drive and play it with free Blu-ray player software. Here is the recommendation. You can have a check.

What you need to do is to reset your Blu-ray player in the first place.
1. Remove the Blu-ray disc from the Blu-ray player' drive.
2. Power off the Blu-ray player and disconnect wire.
3. Unplug the Blu-ray player from the output TV and disconnect the cable.
4. Wait in patience and remain the Blu-ray player power off for minutes.
5. Plug the Blu-ray cord and connect the Blu-ray player with to the TV.
6. Power on the Blu-ray player.
7. Insert the Blu-ray disc to the player one more time.

My ps3 plays games but will not play blu ray movie

You can try clear your movie data from the discs you\'ve played (according to Fox that\'s sometimes the culprit when a disc won\'t even load): restart your PS3 and go to the video menu and scroll up to the BluRay Data section. Go into it and check that it has saved some info for your movies. Now deleted all the data in this folder except the shared data crap, and hopefully your movies start perfectly!!

If that fails try the following:

In the XMB(menus) go to Settings ---> BD/DVD Settings ---> BD 1080p 24 Hz Output (HDMI). Turn that off. This has also been known to work.

Try a different disc, one that worked before if problem still persists try and buy a lens cleaning disc that should solve your problem. If not, your optical laser head needs replacing.

My vizio vbr120 will play dvd but not blu ray

This is a common problem in blu ray discs, the reason why it won't play is because they play at a faster speed and demand a higher precision to produce the high definition signal required to play the program. The only way to fix this is to replace the whole laser pickup assembly which would not be cost effective.

My Denon DVM-1800 says no disc what do I do?

I have had the same thing happen with my blu-ray. I have tried cleaning the disc; the lens, occasionally with success. flashing the bios. also known as update of the system [can be done online {if equipped} of mine also has a usb port {download the correct file to a USB drive and re-power DVD with the drive in place}]. if these things don't work try manufacturer tech support. I had mine replaced because it wpould NOT flash. good luck.

I received a freebie DVD player but it won't play DVD it keeps saying no disc

The problem is in the laser pickup assembly, buy a DVD cleaning kit and follow instructions, it may help buy more time if not! replace the player not cost effective to repair.

No matter what DVD I load in the player, it won't play the DVD. It says "Cannot play this disk". What's the problem?

The first thing to try is to clean the laser itself by using a cleaning disc. If that fails then most likely the pickup laser is no longer any good. This is usually obvious if you place an audio CD in the unit and it plays fine : )
