SOURCE: Wiring Johnson Microphone to cobra 29 CB Radio

Use trial and error systemathically. If still refuses to work, mike and radio aren't compatibles.

SOURCE: Is a Cobra HH 38

  • Hi, I can help.
  • The Cobra HH 38WX ST is a hand held CB restricted to the normal 40 CB channels.
  • A VHS marine radio uses different frequencies and different antennas.
  • I would absolutely not hook one to the others antenna set up or you will fry that radio as the SWR would go through the roof immediately.
  • You can use that CB in the mobile and on a boat but they would need their own antenna setup.

  • If you have any comments please feel free to leave them here.
  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

Regards, Tony

My cobra 148 GTL will not key in the mobile

If you have been using this radio on the bench using a 12 Volt power supply and it was functioning properly then not operating in the mobile you need to look at fuses or a bad D.C. Plug.

Im looking for a plug to put in a wall socket and im trying to use an older cobra29 cb radio. Can you help?

Hey AlexJacob

a mobile cb radio like the cobra 29 requires 12V DC, to plug the radio into the wall you need a Power Supply. A small 5 amp power supply will help you. Their is no plug that goes Directly from a Mobile CB rado into a wall. You will need to plug a power supply into the wall, Then take the power chord (red and black with 3 prong [o oo] and connect red to red on the power supply and black to black on the power supply. Unfortunatly a cheap power supply will be $50+ check your local radioshack
