1. Disconnect the electrical cord from the wall.
2. Move the washer forward about 12 inches.
3. Lift the lid and grasp the front of the washer top with both hands.
4. Place your knee on the front of the cabinet and pull the washer top forward and up.

The lid lock mechanism is secured to the bottom of the washer top with two screws. Remove those screws and the wiring will be exposed. Unplug the harness from the old mechanism and connect to the new one.

Secure the new mechanism to the washer top and let the top down.

Maytag BRAVOS X Ecoconserv washer lid lock sensor will not quit flashing & unlock unless I unplug washer & plug back in. It started after I washed a load of clothes & it didn't finish the spin cycle.

When the wash cycle is finished and I open the lid, water has caught under the rubber seal and splashes back into the tub, soaking the spun drive clothes. Any ideas?

My washer is locked won't open

Will Not Unlock
• Press off. The motor control is not responding if it
takes 4 minutes to unlock. The motor control is
either bad or disconnected.
• Unplug and reconnect power cord. Wait 20 seconds
for machine to unlock.
• Check lid locked switch circuit. Circuit should be
closed at machine control.
• Check for loose electrical connections at lid lock and
at machine control board.
• Push lid closed to make sure nothing from inside is
pressing against it which may keep it from unlocking.
• If necessary, remove clothes by disconnecting power

to washer, and open top cover with a putty knife.Here is the part to order.

Cannot open the door of front loader J845. Washing cycle has finished, clothes are stuck inside the machine. Have cleaned the filter at the bottom of the machine. How do I open the door please?

Try unplugging unit and plug back in, then try running cycle this should unlock door.

The load finished on my whirlpool cabrio washer (topload) but the machine won't unlock the lid?

you need to replace the lid lock. the latch probably broke in 2, and the broken part is whats keeping the lid closed. if you have clothes inside you can open the top by using a putty knife to release the front clips holding the top of the machine down. push each clip in and lift up. you will also be able to access the lid lock this way.

GE Front Loader Washer - Not washing

It sound like a lid switch issue. If the lid switch is defective, your washer can't spin and may not function at all. The switch is inside the washing machine main housing near the door frame. Often you have to raise or open the top or front of the washer to get to the switch. Look that the switch is not broken or loose. If all is fine, you should replace the switch. Good luck!
